The USB tracks for Super Turrican and Mega Turrican correctly use generic names for stage tunes, but I thought to write down an AKA chart applying Turrican 3 theme titles (or new arrangement titles found on TSA Vol.4 for ST1) to each corresponding tune:
Mega Turrican 130 Title 1:57 131 Stage 1-1 3:48 ("Factory Action") 132 Elevator 1:02 133 Secret Stage 2:50 ("Screw Nut Hall") 134 Stage 1-2 2:33 ("Second Floor") 135 Interlude 1:03 136 Boss Approaching 0:08 137 Stage 1 Boss 0:47 ("Meat Beast Boss") 138 Stage 2-1 3:13 ("Wet Dungeon") 139 Stage 2-2 1:54 ("Do the Bath Man") 140 Stage 2-3 1:38 ("Swim or Die") 141 Stage 2 Boss 1:07 ("Sea Monster Boss") 142 Stage 3-1 1:59 ("Air Combat") 143 Stage 3-2 1:04 144 Stage 3-3 1:24 ("Scrap Yard I") 145 Stage 3-4 1:30 ("Scrap Yard II") 146 Stage 3 Boss 1:04 ("Penultimate") 147 Stage 4-1 1:41 ("Alien Disaster") 148 Stage 4-2 2:01 ("Bionic Train") 149 Stage 4-3 1:57 ("Slimy Mutants") 150 Stage 4 Boss 0:46 ("Alien Mom Boss") 151 Stage 5 2:52 ("Climb to Survive") 152 The Machine 0:39 ("Crane Boss") 153 Credits 3:39 154 Stage Complete 0:04 155 Game Over 0:05 156 Failure 0:04 Super Turrican *this color= newly composed specifically for this game. 101 Opening 1:24 102 Stage 1-1 3:34 ("Factory Action") 103 Stage 1-2 3:03 ("Platform Action") 104 Stage 1-3 3:18 ("Second Floor") 105 Tension 0:19 106 Stage 1 Boss 1:06 ("Meat Beast Boss") 107 Stage 2-1 3:37 ("Steam"?...first half of "Steam and Pressure") 108 Stage 2-2 2:23 (middle part of "Steam and Pressure") 109 Trash Compactor 0:43 110 Stage 2-3 2:02 ("Pressure"?...second half of "Steam and Pressure") 111 Stage 2 Boss 0:40 (final part of "Steam and Pressure") 112 Stage 3-1 2:01 ("Scrap Yard I", faster tempo) 113 Stage 3-2 1:33 ("Scrap Yard II") 114 Stage 3-3 0:57 115 Stage 3 Boss 0:39 ("Crane Boss"... not used in game, due to stage boss being removed to accomodate game into 4mbit cartridge) 116 Stage 4-1 2:25 ("Xenomorph") 117 Stage 4-2 2:07 ("Air Combat") 118 Stage 4-3 2:09 (used in second half of "Xenomorph") 119 Stage 4 Boss 1:13 (this ones uses "Alien Mom Boss" for its base, but then develops into a an original composition) 120 Credits 3:52 121 Title Screen 0:12 122 Game Over 1 0:04 123 Game Over 2 0:04 124 Game Over 3 0:04 125 Game Over 4 0:04 126 Stage 1 Complete 0:03 127 Stage 2 Complete 0:03 128 Stage 3 Complete 0:03 129 Stage 4 Complete 0:03 Last edited by The Gambler; Jan 7, 2014 at 02:30 AM. |

Kinda bothers me that Turrican 3 is being treated as the default, Super and Mega are the real "Turrican III". 3 doesn't even sound right; other than the cool intro tune and slightly better ending, it has some really poor instrumentation that the first, II, Mega, and Super simply do not. If 3's soundtrack is at least the source, it's a good thing he decided to overhaul for Mega; if it's a cheap port, then it's just a cheap port of course.
I think Factory Action (or that + Platform Action) was originally called Bionic Action? One of those albums... Anyway, I know Mega combines them into one thing, but with one section removed... that section alone is still in there as an unused track. Last edited by Despatche; Dec 28, 2013 at 04:39 AM. |

By the way, the OSV is now available for sale on Bandcamp, conveniently split into two volumes (Vol.1 covers Amiga, Vol.2 consoles) Last edited by The Gambler; Jan 2, 2014 at 02:17 PM. |
