Exclamation Please post to frontpage: MYSTERY SOLVED! CONFIRMATION OF MICHAEL JACKSON IN SONIC 3

Gametrailers' Popfiction did research two weeks ago and this is the result:

http://www.gametrailers.com/playlist...ichael-jackson

A source INSIDE SEGA has confirmed fan suspicion. I request that ALL ALBUMS involving Sonic 3 be updated to reflect this. Its time credit is given where credit is due!

...Boy, you don't really follow Sonic Retro, do you? They figured this out pretty solidly a long, long time ago. Sega and Sonic Team obviously can't confirm it, because they would get into major legal trouble with Jackson's estate. There are also conflicting reports on which tracks are actually Jackson's and which were essentially "remixed" by the remaining staff to retain Jackson's style, because none of the people who worked on it are legally able or willing to talk.

Also, the caps aren't necessary.

Lock request then. Either way this solidifies it.

Actually, both MJ's team and Sega (Masaru Setsumaru) have told me they worked with MJ, so isn't that officially confirming it from both parties? (although publicly they still haven't, so you're still right in a way) The question at this point is what you said, which tracks did MJ actually contribute to (Brad Buxer and Cirocco Jones have been credited for music in the game as well) and how much did Sega alter the demos MJ sent them after he left the project.

Hey Dissident, how were you in contact with MJ's team and Masaru Setsumaru? Just out of curiosity... Are you/were you a SEGA employee?

hahaha, nah, I found them and wrote a message through the power of social networking! be careful if you try to contact any of the guys from MJ's crew though, they don't like to talk about it (and rightful so, as there is a royalty lawsuit still going on and the whole situation is messy)

even SEGA told their employees to be hush-hush about it, but some (like Setusmaru) don't seem to mind, as long as you don't overload them with questions.

Cirocco Jones told me directly he worked with MJ on the project. (and he doesn't like to even talk about the subject) Masaru Setsumaru told me it was an honor to work on a project with MJ. The video had another inside source backing up what I've been told in the past. All five of MJ's crew credited in game worked with MJ around that time (1993-1996) Also, what would pictures prove? MJ did all this from a studio in LA, so unless there is a video or document with him clearly mentioning his involvement with the project, I don't see how that's any better than two his co-workers saying directly they worked with him.

The whole legal problem exists solely because MJ was never officially credited in the first place. Sega is apparently using that as excuse to not pay MJ's estate. MJ contributed to the project, that's a fact. The question is how much was his work edited after he left and Sega let their in-house sound team arrange his work.
