Saki Kasuga (#11381)
Idk if this is true, but did Saki Kusaga jump to Namco's sound team?

they also say Saki composed for Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, (officially credited for SFX only), so maybe it was just an error as well?

She's been freelance for a few years, don't know her dates for sure. She did BGM too, it was on her old site. She even went so far as to mention she was only credited in the game with SFX. |

ah ok, wasn't aware of that.

Do we know which songs she did for the game?

Well if the source is straight from Nintendo then she must have jumped sides. I rarely see Nintendo deal with ex-members, but I guess it doesn't abide to composers.

I don't believe the specific composer is known for any TTYD songs, unfortunately, and her site only said "BGM" without indicating that she did map music or battle music or whatever.
The fact that she arranged Rogueport as part of the Paper Mario Medley for Smash 4 could indicate that it's hers, but obviously that's not proof at all. (I kind of think that's Hirano's anyway, but my guesses also don't mean anything.) |

Oddly, nintendo.wikia.com has "song credits" for Hirano/Sekigawa and Tsujiyoko that seem pretty confident, but there don't seem to be any sources for their information. Any idea what that's all about? There are plenty of tracks from the game that their lists are missing too, so those could have been the work of Saki Kasuga.
All three of their Facebook profiles are known, by the way, so would it be worth a shot to ask any of them about it or has that already been attempted? |

Yeah, I wouldn't trust anything on that wiki without proof. It's not the only wiki where people put up composer guesses as though they're fact (Sega Retro, Super Mario Wiki, Capcom Database). ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
To my knowledge, no one's tried contacting any of them for info about TTYD. No idea how open any of them are to random questions from the internet. |

Hirano accepts friend requests and generally replies to messages. Not sure about the other two.

Almost every industry insider will become friend. Nintendo employees are most likely not allowed to communicate on networks. But then most Japanese like to keep communications for in person contact. I am friends with Hirano, but she has never replied or even looked at my message. I never sent a message to Saki, but Yuka and Saki both will not accept or respond to anyone.

I guess it depends on what you're asking and whether you're asking it in English or Japanese.

Hirano responds to messages, you say? Why doesn't someone throw him/her a message asking about TTYD, then? I would, but I don't know Japanese.
Maybe he/she'd be able to say what Tsujiyoko and Kasuka did as well! |
