0:10 -> Eddy's theme (0:09)
0:18 -> Hwoarang's theme (2:07)
0:33 -> Jin Kazama's theme (0:00)
Coincidentally, all of these Tekken 3 tracks are by B.K.O (Keiichi Okabe).

Biohazard (Resident Evil)
  • "Track 35" (sample 7) from "Zero-G: Datafile One" was used in 1.10 "Dismal Field" (on TYCY-5511)

^ Also in that track, is the sound effect for monsters in PS1 Digimon World (4th sample)

Biohazard 0 (Resident Evil 0)
  • "SCUBA STR" from "Spectrasonics: Distorted Reality 2" was used in 5.29 "寄宿舎メインテーマ" (track number and title from the box)
  • "COLUMNS" from "Spectrasonics: Distorted Reality" was used in 5.21 "養成所メインテーマ" (track number and title from the box)

Galerians
  • "COLUMNS" from "Spectrasonics: Distorted Reality" was used in 1.09 "STAGE D-II ~ドロシー戦闘~ヘブン"

Subarashiki Kono Sekai (The World Ends with You)
  • "OOZIE WAH" from "Spectrasonics: Bizarre Guitar" was used in 26 "Detonation"

Also, I noticed Rei Harakami's track "Code" (1997) has that ambience also used in the start of "Twilight World" (2006) from Twilight Princess. Does anyone know where it might be from? I'm fairly certain it's not from DR1 at least.

Doubt its the same but that Twilight Princess sample comes from GIGAPACK.
SYN_115x.wav
Play one octave lower from C and pitch bend it up.
ALSOOO
ONCE...no twice again I heard that tribal drum beat I posted on the previous page. Its was on a TV show called "Key and Peele" and in the Video Game Siren New Translation "Infiltration"

This has to come from Percussive Adventure 1 and i guess i dont have the full CD.

Hmm, honestly.. I don't think that's it.

While looking through Gigapack again, I found these:

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
  • "SYN:Pizz5" (bank SYN JD 1) from "Best Service: Gigapack" was used in "Temple of Time" (not on any official soundtrack)
  • "SYN:Pizz2" (bank SYN JD 1) from "Best Service: Gigapack" was used in "Temple of Time" (not on any official soundtrack)

umm It is.You are not doing it right then. lol extract that sample from TP and you will find it. The game pitch bends it. You need to make the pitch a little stronger. up to 5 in KONTAKT
Heres a remake

Cool! Yeah, I checked the TP sound bank now and found it.. I didn't think it'd be there. But I did try pitch bending the SYN:155x sample before already, but I guess I must've forgotten to either go down an octave or add some Attack to it, because it didn't sound right at all to me..

Yeah man! Im not lying to you when i say its the sample. =P

Also i think there is some "Twilight Realm" synths in that CD. I cant remember which one.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSaH6pjl1oQ

Its plays with the main melody behind it very faint. IDK try finding those samples. Also we need to find this sample that plays a 0:00
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iWIhGymc9c and those other weird vocals found in the TP sample rip.

Hmm, if it's okay to talk about samples we're curious about but don't know the source of yet, I've always wondered about that jungle drumloop from Super Mario RPG.

Which reminds me, some of the samples in Super Mario RPG seem to be from Roland's Sound Canvas modules, I ought to go about documenting those eventually.

Here's a content list: Vol. 1 Vol. 2 Music Store seems to be the company name, and Einstein the name of the sample CD.

I just noticed a little interesting thing about a sample library, so I figured I'd just document it somewhere. It seems like Bill Laswell sampled Death Cube K (aka Buckethead). He typically doesn't use pre-recorded material in his compositions, AFAIK. The sample "Acoustic Guitar 10" from Covert Diaspora by Bill Laswell essentially sounds remastered to that in Death Cube K's track, "Maggot Dream". Maggot Dream was released May 13, 1994, and Covert Diaspora seems to have been released 2001 sometime. To not go completely off-topic I'll bring up again, that kt2 used the "Acoustic Guitar 10" sample from Covert Diaspora in "Five Days" in the game project "For you, as I saw you", that was never completed.

Major Edit #1:

CRISIS CORE -FINAL FANTASY VII- Original Soundtrack
  • "LOW RIDER" from "Spectrasonics: Metamorphosis" was used in 1.18 "暗躍のダークスーツ (FFVII『タークスのテーマ』より)"

Growlanser III: The Dual Darkness
  • "CLUSTER 01" from "Spectrasonics: Symphony of Voices" was used in 26 "疑惑"

Musashiden II: Blademaster (Musashi: Samurai Legend)
  • "23 Tulku of the Headwaters" from "Q Up Arts: Pandora's Toolbox" was used in 1.25 "Meltdown"

I think that Besaid Island chime sample actually comes from the AMG expansion card "Vintage Synths" (SR-JV80-04). It also has a sample called Ana(log) Chime. But I haven't been able to find the sample, or even a demo of it, so I can't verify.. The name of the actual wave for that patch SEEMS to be "JP-8 PWM B" (if I'm deciphering the owner's manual properly..), so maybe it originally comes from Roland JP-8 even (EDIT: or maybe the wave is "E04-071 2600 Sine" judging by this list).

I found the menu selection FX from DMC2 in the built-in "This Is It" demo (0:12) of YAMAHA EX5R, so yeah, that likely originates from EX5R, but obviously, I don't know the specific patch/preset/wave name.

According to the info on this interview, SC-88 is one of the synths Nobuo Uematsu uses (or at least has used). "Nylon Gt." therefrom could be the guitar used in FFVIII Breezy, and/or at least FFX Spiran Scenery. Also, the demo (at least) for "BLUES OD" on Synth Mania sounds similar to Shuffle or Boogie (I wonder if the guy of SM is hinting at FFVIII with the demo ).

"SURF GUITAR" from Roland SC-88 would likely have been used in FFVII Electric de Chocobo. There's also that heartbeat FX thingy from FFVII in there, once again though, don't know the patch nor sample name/s.

"ORCHESTRA" (rhythm set) from Roland SC-88 definitely contains the drum sample from Qu's Marsh et al from FFIX. EDIT: Well, that went quick - another sample from a FFIX track that also has the aforementioned drum sample: "Strings Sect. 2" - used in Cid's theme.

Something of the "3D PIPE" demo on the SC-880 page reminds me of the pipe in FFIX Madain Sari. Or possibly FFX Yuna's Decision. I think SC-88 has one of the samples from those anyway.

"Afro Split" from SC-88 is in FFX Between the Trials, I'm quite sure.

Major edit #2:

Final Fantasy X
  • "WARNING" from "Spectrasonics: Distorted Reality 2" was used in 4.07 "彷徨の炎"

I'm shocked how well Hamauzu sliced and utilized that sample... Actually, I'm not even sure where the hell it plays, but I know it's in there (I've extracted all of the samples from the in-game track). If anyone figures it out, I'd love to know. I doubt it's the "main" ambience, because there are about 5 ambient samples in the track - and they're all fairly similar.

Major edit #3:

Final Fantasy X
  • "VERBONICS" from "Spectrasonics: Bizarre Guitar" was used in 3.09 "灼熱の砂漠"

Just a sample I've been hunting around for for 4 months now...

The lead craps dealer vocals from Jet Set Radio Future's Funky Dealer-- any idea what pack it's from? I already have several other packs that Naganuma has used in his music-- also including samples from Sonic Rush and Ollie King-- but am yet to find this one.

Well, look at that! I recognized more than one sample from Tekken 3 in there. Can you list which ones you found so I'm not missing something? Anyway, thanks for reporting, kokujin. Guess I should be checking out some more Masterbits libraries.

I found the first percussion loop from DKC2 Bayou Boogie in Masterbits: Sampling Collection 600 (track 49). Apparently they took samples from Korg T1, Kawai K4, Ensoniq VFX SD, EMU Proteus XR, Prophet VS, Oberheim Xpander and ROLAND CR78 for that library, so I guess David Wise took it from one of these..

This is all I could recognize in "GUITARS".

Tekken 3 Arcade
  • "Track 4" (Sample 5) from "Masterbits: Climax 3 - GUITARS" was used in 16 "Ogre"

Killer Instinct
  • "Track 20" (Sample 2) from "Masterbits: Climax 3 - GUITARS" was used in 09 "Yo Check This Out!"

One of the samples in that opening percussion loop definitely sounds like something from an old analog drum machine, could very well be from the CR78 or another similar machine.

Okay, here's the other one I found.

Tekken 3 Arcade
  • "Track 10" (sample 6 - last bit of it) from "Masterbits: Climax 3 - GUITARS" was used in 01 "Attract Movie" (0:03)

I also feel like I recognize some from tracks 17, 24 & 26.

Regarding Funky Dealer from JSRF's lead vocals, I messaged Hideki Naganuma himself on Twitter hoping that he remembered where it was from, however it turns out all the sample were off his HDD and he didn't grasp every CD's name.

Afterwards, I decided to message the composer of another song that used the same sample-- Nobuyoshi Sano, who composed "boots" for Zuki-in 1995 Winter.

He says it's from Sound Ideas' series 3000 sample library. Could anyone verify if this is true or not? It's a good push in a direction, but still...

Wow, sanodg is awesome. Others would probably ignore a question like that, let alone not even remember something like that. I don't have that library he mentions. I decided to see if Keiichi Okabe is as cool (asked him about the Tekken 3 guitar riffs).

EDIT: also, the flute sample in Church / Graveyard from Zelda TP is likely from one of the Zero-G Ethnic libraries (I found it in a Reason Refill demo for Ethnic Flavours, but it's probably originally from 1 or 2 I'm guessing).
