Not really have a strong opinion on this, but performers are often very tricky in singles. Not infrequently are main vocalists listed in the booklet, but nonetheless we treat them as implicit credits, or have to source other stuff besides booklets anyway.

actually, it's maybe "composer" and "performer" that are tricky
"music" means they created the melody and performed it too?

I never really thought about it tbh, as having two distinct roles: one composes, another plays
booklets could be more explicite about that, because I find it's vague
