CPCA-10178: Gyakuten Saiban Orchestra Album ~GYAKUTEN MEETS ORCHESTRA~
I read the Noriyuki Iwadare's interview in OSV made by Carl, but I have a doubt. Is this album performed by a true orchestra or only by synthesided orchestra? Because isn't possible to find any information about the performers or the conducor in the booklet.

I believe it was a smaller chamber orchestra size which was used on the first studio recording, maybe only 30 people or so, I'd estimate.
Might have been an assembly of studio session players, as there wasn't a named group. (while the live performances by the TPO utilized around 70~75 performers) Yeah that could have been another good question to ask, to confirm the earlier players, as I didn't ask for any details about the first studio album. Can someone comment on the cover scans? What exactly is the back of the booklet?
CPCA-10179 has a scan "Booklet 5-6", which is (nearly) identical to the "Booklet-Outside" scan from CPCA-10178, however this scan being the outside of booklet doesn't make much sense - since it features two pages. One has to be the back of the booklet and so the other one has to be the booklet front, however this doesn't seem to be the case. |

I can't speak about the packaging of this album, but I own CPCA-10179, and the back of the insert as it's folded is the righthand side of the "Booklet 5-6" scan. It's not actually a booklet, but a long insert folded in thirds, so the inside looks like this:
And the outside looks like this: I'll change the titles of those scans so it's clearer. |

Yeah, when the contents are folded in thirds like that, I'm not totally sure how to handle the scans. It doesn't help that my scanner isn't long enough to fit the unfolded contents.

For Tri-Fold booklets like this, I'll still do them in 2-page sections, which makes 3 scans total.
Like this one for example. Depending on how you fold that one, you get a choice of 3 different covers... so splitting those up into single images would have made it too confusing, thus leaving them connected is best =) Last edited by Carl; Nov 11, 2009 at 09:06 AM. |
