Default Help me compile a list of Nintendo games that contain sound tests

Just like it says in the topic title. I'm trying to create a comprehensive list of every first-party Nintendo game that has some sort of sound test, jukebox, music collection, etc. feature. There are several Nintendo IPs I'm not as familiar with, such as Pokemon, Kirby, Star Fox, Fire Emblem, some of the Mario spin-offs, etc.--so hopefully those who are familiar with IPs that I'm not can help me out in this thread! As titles are supplied, I'll update this post.

It doesn't matter how rudimentary the feature is, if it has some sort of music collection feature in-game, I want to list it.

The list so far:
  • Super Smash Bros.
  • Super Smash Bros. Melee
  • Super Smash Bros. Brawl
  • Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS
  • Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
  • Super Paper Mario
  • Paper Mario: Sticker Star
  • Mario & Luigi: Dream Team
  • Mario Party
  • Mario Party 2
  • Mario Party 3
  • Mario Party 7
  • Mario Party 9
  • Donkey Kong Country
  • Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest
  • Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!
  • Donkey Kong Country Returns
  • Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D
  • Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
  • Diddy Kong Racing
  • Wario Land 4
  • Wario Land: Shake It!
  • Yoshi's Woolly World
  • The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
  • Hyrule Warriors
  • Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
  • Metroid Prime: Trilogy
  • Kid Icarus Uprising
  • Kirby's Dream Land
  • Kirby's Adventure
  • Kirby's Dream Course
  • Kirby's Dream Land 2
  • Kirby Super Star
  • Kirby's Dream Land 3
  • Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
  • Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble
  • Kirby Air Ride
  • Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land
  • Kirby & The Amazing Mirror
  • Kirby: Canvas Curse
  • Kirby: Squeak Squad
  • Kirby Super Star Ultra
  • Kirby's Epic Yarn
  • Kirby Mass Attack
  • Kirby's Return to Dream Land
  • Kirby: Triple Deluxe
  • Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
  • Star Fox 64
  • Star Fox 64 3D
  • Star Fox Adventures
  • Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time
  • Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness
  • Fire Emblem
  • Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
  • Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon
  • Punch-Out!!
  • Xenoblade Chronicles 3D
  • Advance Wars: Days of Ruin
  • Golden Sun: The Lost Age
  • Wave Race 64
  • Rhythm Heaven
  • Rhythm Heaven Fever
  • Hotel Dusk: Room 215
  • Last Window: The Secret of Cape West
  • Splatoon

Are there any Mario-related games I'm missing? I think there are sound tests in other Mario Party games, but I haven't played them so I have no idea. I'm also unfamiliar with the Mario & Luigi series, so can anyone tell me if those games have sound tests? What about the Wario games and older Yoshi games?

I know Kirby: Triple Deluxe has a sound test, and even included info on who wrote each song. Mario & Luigi: Dream Team has one too, but not sure if the older games do as well (the song titles for the 2SF rips are detailed, so I'm going to assume they come from sound tests)

Excellent, thanks dissident--just the sort of stuff I was looking for.

I know Superstar Saga doesn't, but I wonder if Partners in Time or Bowser's Inside Story do?

I know the gba and nds fire emblem games all have unlockable sound tests:

Fire Emblem
Fire Emblem: Fuuin no Tsurugi
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon
Fire Emblem: Shin Monshou no Nazo ~Hikari to Kage no Eiyuu~

As for partners in time, I'm pretty sure it doesn't have one. I've beaten the game and didn't unlock one at least.

Wave Race 64 does, if I'm not mistaken. Sound tests aren't really common in Nintendo games, unfortunately. In fact, all of those games you've listed are developed by HAL, Rare, Intelligent, Hudson, Retro etc... no Nintendo games ;p

Yeah, I wonder if any first party Nintendo games have one? If this was a Sega list, I'd be of much more help.

As far as I remember, Kirby's Dream Land 3 has a hidden sound test.

Most Kirby games actually:

Btw I think you should add a note when the sound test includes names (ex. Kirby's Epic Yarn, Kirby Mass Attack) and is it's known to be incomplete.

Thanks to Dag's link to the Kirby Wiki page, as well as a page I found for sound tests on TVTropes, I've been able to update this list fairly extensively.

For the purposes of this thread, I'm classifying "published by Nintendo" (i.e. not third party) as first party and thus Nintendo games.

But yeah, it is a shame that when you look at Nintendo's flagship franchises--Super Mario, Legend of Zelda, and apparently Pokemon--sound tests are almost unheard-of in such games.

Right now, my only goal is to compile a list of games with some sort of sound test, no matter how incomplete, untitled, or badly implemented they may be. (I'm also restricting this list to games that have had a Western release, hence why I've left out some Japan-only Fire Emblem titles.) In the future, I may separate these out into separate lists based on which ones have track titles, varying degrees of completeness, etc. For now I'm just trying to keep track of those that have anything music-related in-game.

Are you counting sound tests only accessible via hacking? Or just the ones that can be viewed in-game without having to resort to such methods? Explorers of Time/Darkness sound test requires hacking, but the one in Sky (the enhanced version) doesn't.
