According to http://www.geneonuniversal.jp/, Geneon Entertainment and Universal Pictures Japan merged in 2009 February to become Geneon Universal Entertainment.

This means all albums after February should be carefully checked to see if they should be linked to the old Geneon or Geneon Universal. Albums released in March onwards should have definitely switched over to the new organization.

Looks like this is the end of Geneon. They changed their name to NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan on December 9th.

Actually, the first "GENEON UNIVERSAL" release was GNCA-0133 at the end of May. I have purchased CDs after February and before May which support this timeframe.

The same delay is also true about the change from "GENEON UNIVERSAL" to "NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan" - it hasn't happened yet. And this poster suggests it isn't going to happen before 2014/02/05, either.

not necessary, geneon as a label of nbc could still exist
but as the present publisher/label system doesn't take in count record companies and their label, in case geneon will still exist, so the creation of nbc could be useless

(edit: with a record company/label system, we could have nbc and labels without interfering with the date limitation when you link a label, since in nbc case, nbc has been created whereas geneon label was still operational -cf. dec 2013 and maybe a bit after)

however even if the site still have geneon for at least outgrow (jan 29) but nothing for after that date
it doesn't mean the name won't be changed and even maybe their catalogue stems (from GNCx to NBCx, NUCx or whatever) like when pioneer became geneon
