Default Subtitle Feature

Could we have an album subtitle feature? Storing these informations seperated is a better way, in my opinion.
When it comes to doujins, there are many with subtitles. Most labels have them printed on the front cover, but they aren't used for publishing/displaying often. Adding them to the main title is sometimes a little "overpowered" and not authentic at all.

The title is always going to have some debate as there are also issues with capitalization, text size, placement, and other stylistic choices. I think I would need to see some examples of what you are referring to.

Personally, I put them in the 4+ line. If the album has scans, it shall be immediately visible, otherwise I'm not convinced it's that crucial a piece of information.

I can't say I would be a big fan of the subtitle field. I think it's difficult to effectively distinguish what qualifies as a subtitle, so it would add a lot of subjective complexity to the submission process. Also, part of the reason we have all of the titles stored in one field was to allow for multiple titles (including multiple languages) while preserving the ability to search on one field.

Example:

Otokei Dojin Data Base

It'd be nice to have this too.

A subtitle field would be nice for albums with really long subtitles, at least. And from Gaia's example, it looks like we'd be able to preserve information that's normally dropped, too.

I've debated over whether or not those subtitles are really part of the album, because often they aren't on the cover or spine. I wonder if, in some cases, it's more like a combination of our Game and Classification fields than a Subtitle.

Perhaps it's something that can be considered specific to Doujins. I just don't want the presence of subtitles to prompt someone to split up every multi-line title, so that Mystical Tales — The Sound of Warcraft III becomes the less descriptive Mystical Tales.
