Default Diggin in the Carts - Red Bull Music Academy

Found this covered by a couple news websites, although none of the game music blogs have picked it up so far:

Redbull Music Academy is publishing a series on the history of Japanese game music

http://www.redbullmusicacademy.jp/jp...g-in-the-carts

the first episode is online already and I have yet to watch it. More episodes follow and it looks like the usual famous composers are onboard.

In order to view the episodes I had to use another link:

http://www.redbull.com/de/de/music/s...arts-episode-1

With so many projects on the history of game music coming up, the fact that Red Bull chose this game music topic for their annual event (this year in Tokyo) is pretty cool. Not like we're extreme athletes or anything :-)

Junko Ozawa getting all the credits she deserves is nice.

3rd episode is coming tomorrow.

I recommend this to everyone that loves VGM.
So far we can mainly see and hear Junko Ozawa, Hirokazu "Hip" Tanaka, Akio Dobashi (Lagrange Point) and Masashi Kageyama, with lots of comments from Haruhisa "Hally" Tanaka.

I found strange Michiru Yamane appear on opening and that is it. Some copyright problem perhaps?

I felt the series fell apart after episode 4. 8 bit was covered well and a pleasant surprise, everything after was hurried and skipping too much to be a good overview of the topic. But I read that the producers plan to release more interviews and stuff that they created (but didn't end up using) for the series, I guess Yamane will be shown then as well.

Indeed, 16bit deserve more love. Hoping to see Masato Nakamura on the episode, but only mention his name and only his music has appeared. The 5th with Uematsu only was cool, but nedeed to talk more on FF4 and 5 aside 6 and Distant Worlds / Final Symphony.

The last episode was strange for me. Tekken music is really that popular? [Cool thing about Metal Gear Solid though]
