Huh. Where was this announced?

And yeah, unless this has remixes or new tracks, not a buy for me.

Not sure if Sega/Wave Master officially announced it, but pre-order information exists on Amazon.

Fair enough. I checked CDJapan and they have a link for it too.

If there's any new material, it'll probably be remixes by Cash Cash or Crush 40 versions of Sonic songs. :/

Doubt it. Cash Cash is kind of like the newer Bentley Jones; sort of a flavor of the month thing that comes and goes. I'm fairly certain their time is over. Also Crush 40 has pretty much exhausted all of the Sonic covers that they said they'd care to do.

Thanks to Google Translate and some extrapolating, it's not really anything interesting. Between the two music discs there'll be 25 tracks and it'll have vocal tracks and instrumentals that the sound team think fit the anniversary theme. The rest is Senoue talking about the mastering process and the thought process behind doing the album art and packaging.

Double dipping post, but thanks to Jun's recent post on Sonic Channel here: http://sonic.sega.jp/SonicChannel/to...160610_001059/ We now have the full tracklist and album art for the album.

No teaser track from the anticipated 25th anniversary game, eh? Also, interesting to see more than one Sonic 3 (&K) track.

Michael Jackson. :v

The S3 special stage was supposedly made by Jun Senoue.

Hydrocity Zone has nothing to do with MJ, if I remember correctly. The Special Stage music of S3K was composed by Yoshiaki Kashima, though the tracks for the bonus stages are composed by Jun Senoue. I really wish Sega would hurry up and sort out the legal issues behind S3K's music; by now even the composers are probably aware of fans trying to investigate the music.

Also, it'd be nice if the CD gave a composer breakdown. It'd be nice to find out who did the S3K tracks on this CD, though they'll probably just credit those tracks to SEGA (how cowardly lol).

If you want info about that, I made a large speculatory post about Hydrocity previously (I'll find it if somebody wants to see it).

But yeah, I'd be more than surprised if they actually credited somebody specific. The last few times Sonic 3 tracks have been published by Wave Master, they simply credit it to SEGA.

Nice to see them use Angel Island Act 2 and Death Egg from 3&K, I thought they would just use Angel Island Act 1 and Sky Sanctuary like they usually do. Very slowly we are getting an official 3&K ost, one or two tracks at a time.

Sonic 1 & 2 were not actually managed by Sega but by Masato Nakamura, who owns the rights to the music of both games. While Sega (apparently) owns the music of Sonic 3 & Knuckles I guess they don't wanna mess up a lot with this MJ legal issues.

I think Sega owns the rights to all tracks from S3K except the tracks composed by MJ and his crew. It's likely they will not release the OST without the MJ tracks to avoid having an incomplete OST. They could release Sonic & Knuckles on its own, but they haven't, probably because they want to have both games on the OST release.

Sega need to give the money they owe to the right holders of the MJ tracks and get the situation sorted. The manager of Wave Master probably knows fine well the fans want the game released on OST.

I was looking for a complete boxset of Sonic soundtracks, but it doesn't seem to exist?
I only see compilations with selected songs from different games and platforms.
