This Tohru is written as 亨, not 享. Burning Rival (ARC) credits:
His name also appears on this SEGA Moba column list in conjunction with this "StarHorse SOUND COLLECTION" album that apparently doesn't exist anywhere but this one page. |

It kind of looks like one of those kanji simplification variants, especially since both characters share meanings and some readings. I wonder if we should keep it as an alternate.

Was it confirmed that he did the music for Altered Beast? I'm asking since the Mega Drive staff credits give 'Nau' credit for sound.

"Master" comments on the Altered Beast soundtrack on G.S.M. Sega 1, and that's a confirmed alias of his through the Galaxy Force II/Thunder Blade album. I don't know if he composed the whole thing though.
"Nau" is a common mistranscription of the Genesis credits. It's actually "Nav" (compare it with the U in "sound," the bottom-left corner is clipped), who is Kazuhiko Nagai. |

Ah, that explains it. Does he state there that he worked on the music then, or? It seems strange that he's not listed in the credits if that's the case (even if they're bare bones to say the least). Maybe he was just commenting in Nagai's stead?

Oh, G.S.M. Sega 1 has the original arcade soundtrack, which Nakabayashi worked on. There's a NAK in the high score table I'm guessing is him. Nagai did the Genesis port, which is why he's in the credits and Nakabayashi isn't.

He also did the arcade version of Moonwalker, according to Hiroshi Kubota.

That makes sense. I was confused since the arcade and mega drive versions share the exact same compositions (and SFX as far as I can tell).

you sure? I'm listing to a vgm rip of the arcade soundtrack and I hear stuff not on the mega drive soundtrack.

Judging by GSM 1 they seem to be the same. Arcade: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DqHpyHR1P0I Mega Drive: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQvCbM_bolE

I was told by a Sega staff member that Tohru composed Ghostbusters on Sega Master System and Cyberball for the Genesis.

weren't both of them just arranged/ported from another version?

I saw CHz removed Tohru Nakabayashi from a bunch of albums.
So... he did not compose anything for the Golden Axe series after all ? |

Apparently the arcade soundtrack was entirely by You Takada => https://vgmdb.net/forums/showthread.php?t=9020
