Bobobo-Bobo-Bobo (I can't tell you how long I've been keeping that back)
http://www.smspower.org/People/TokuhikoUwabo http://www.mobygames.com/developer/s...loperId,68088/ I still think his role in Sonic 3 was an advisory one, though. Sachio Ogawa has a greater chance than him to have done something. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVwODpvCJGg - Is that Hydrocity Zone Act 2 I hear? I found this Facebook account with the same kanji name and hiragana reading of the legendary Bo. However, I couldn’t confirm if it’s the same person. The only clue I found: since 2007 he is employed at Winlight as one of the directors.

Sure. =D
I'm trying to get information out of him, since he was apart of the enigmatic Sonic 3 music team. He has confirmed to me that he did no musical work, instead, he simply assigned all the composers and took on an advisory role for Sonic 3 and Knuckles. More info coming soon. P.S. Where you simply searching for composers on Facebook, and came across him? I wonder how many others we could find, if we looked hard enough. |

Just thought I'd check, but the birth date and place came from your conversation with him?

Semi-relavent to Uwabo, but who is Kamiya Studio?
Uwabo produced two games composed by Kamiya Studio, (Castle of Illusion and Quackshot) and this is all I could find related to them. |

Kamiya Studio was behind the Odyssey-K sound tool for the MSX.

Uwabo said they were a company that did alot of work with Roland and developed MIDI sequencer software and tone editors. I wonder who actually composed the games Kamiya is credited for?

Update: Apparently Shigenori Kamiya was the guy responsible for the music for games credited under Kamiya Studio.

Among my favorite Genesis soundtracks are the two Disney platformers, Castle of Illusion and Quackshot. Did Bo composed these fully, partly, or was he just involved as a producer?
Also did these games ever receive official OSTs? |

Uwabo only acted as sound producer/director for those. As far as I know, both games were composed by Shigenori Kamiya of Kamiya Studio, but I can't say for sure if that studio had other composers.

I'm creeping on people on Facebook and Masaya Imoto includes a "Kamiya Studio" in his work history. Says he was a composer/engineer from 1992 to 1994.

Silly question. I just got the Phantasy Star II LP and yeah, despite never having played the game myself (I have watched a playthrough on YouTube; I can see why the game was a big deal when it was released) it is an amazing score, but I can't help be surprised that his discography seems so short. Did Tokuhiko Uwabo just not score a lot of games, or has most of his work just not been released on physical media? Did he just work in the industry in other capacities after a certain point? I don't say this to be snide, but I'm just generally curious - I'd just think his works page would be larger than it is.
Edit: Nevermind. Was just looking at the page under the alias of "Bo". Sry, I see when you click on his full name you get a lot more info. |
