Is there any source for the new release date (or even the old on) on this?

The date seems to have been changed to the release date of Sonic 3 game, following the album notes.

Posting this here as a future potential reference. The artists listings ARE NOT 100% official.
http://www.vgmrush.com/blog/?p=613

-Sonic Boom-Opening Theme, Sonic Boom-Closing Theme - Pastiche (Music by Spencer Nilsen) [No David Young, as supported by True Blue and SSBB.]
-Stardust Speedway-Bad Future, Tidal Tempest, Tidal Tempest-Bad Future, Palmtree Panic, Quartz Quadrant, Stardust Present, Tempest Good Future, Quartz Future, Speedway To Good Future, Wacky Workbench, Special Stage, Workbench-Bad Future, Palmtree Party, Workbench Workout - Spencer Nilsen (with David Young) [But mainly Spencer]
-Collision Chaos, Metallic Madness, Robotnik - Sterling
-Spinball Theme, Flight to Volcanic Fortress, Toxic Cave - Howard Drossin
-Lava Powerhouse - Brian Coburn

NOTE: All of the Spinball tracks are arranged, some specifically by Howard Drossin, NOT Spencer Nilsen, because Spinball Theme and Toxic Cave are seen again on Sega Tunes · Virtual Sonic and are almost exactly the same. Flight to Volcanic Fortress and Lava Powerhouse, however, I cannot immediately confirm as Drossin's arrangements, though it's most likely that they are all done by the same person.

I am sorry Zhane, but you can't post and talk about that link here, as the website provide illegal contents.

Where are you guys finding the catalog number? I can't find it anywhere on the inserts/liner/packaging/disc/etc.

It's a DIDX code, so it's on the back of the disc, along the inner ring. We probabaly shouldn't be using those as the catalog number though.

Depends. Kind of like how you could say our accuracy "depends." They have forums and wikis open to member submissions, so depending on where you look you might find speculation or misinformation, like you might here. (As an example, Sega Retro's pages for Naofumi Hataya and Masafumi Ogata previously had apparently bogus arrangement credits for Sonic CD which were added by kyubihanyou.) They are nuts about Sonic & Sega stuff there, and they vet themselves.

In this case, the notes come from someone who owns the album and he says it's a word-for-word transcription, so unless he's lying they're probably fine.

So since "Sterling"'s real name is Mark Crew, should we put it so that it reads: Mark "Sterling" Crew?

Maybe Sterling (Mark Crew)?

So I was about to make an edit to change the title of this entry when I had a smart idea and looked at the edit history; there's a note from a staff member reverting the same edit I was going to make and saying why.

I was going to change this CD's title to SONIC THE HEDGEHOG BOOM. It's written that way on the back (spines) and the disc. The stuff on the front seems like information describing the release. To take everything on the front that mentions the music in any way as a literal part of the title seems just a tad excessive to me. But I figured I would post about it before I just went ahead and changed it, since I suppose it is debatable what we want to "interpret" as the title.

Hmm, this CD. Yeah, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG BOOM is written on every part of the soundtrack and then, completely separated from that, is a whole phrase describing what music is featured on the CD. Simply not part of the title. P.S. Kept the old title just for niceness or something but really it's not part of the title it's like a completely separate phrase describing the CD so yeah
