Default Missing Obi, what do you do?

Hello ^^

Yeah, it's a weird topic but I would like to know what you guys are doing if you really want a soundtrack but it doesn't comes with the Obi? Just ignore it? Buy it from somewhere else or print it from a HQ-Scan?

Let it me know ^^ I think I would print it from a HQ-Scan. I'm not willing to pay much more because of a tiny commercial paper.

If you're planning to resell it, having the obi would be a bit of a plus, but I probably won't bother unless it's a really special soundtrack. Printing from a scan is something I definitely wouldn't do, anyway.

I would just ignore it. Obi is not important to me, I buy soundtracks because I like the music, not because of a small piece of paper.

Do you display the obis when your cases are on the shelf? I always end up unfolding mine and placing them in the booklet. In a lot of ways, they are kind of inconvenient, though I would never just toss one away. If one of my soundtracks were missing an obi, I wouldn't try to track down someone selling the obi.

Yes, but in our gigantic steel-frame. It's actually bigger then me and it has enough space for ~250 CDs. We only got +50 CDs so far, but it really looks nice and impressive.

Edit: It's really cool to see the old Konami and SquareSoft Obis going down in a row <3.

It really annoys me when I'm missing the obi for an album has no tray insert and thus no spine. It just looks kinda cheap sitting there otherwise.

Seems like I'm more on the nitpicky side in this matter.
My main priority is always complete albums, so yes, I try to get them with obi as a mininum. But, if the price is in an astronomical range, I might rethink about and maybe get it without obi. Still, I wouldn't go tracking down the obi (but if I encountered the chance to buy one I'm missing, why not?)

I also just unfold the obi and put it on top of the cd (so when I close the jewel case, obi is between the cd and the booklet). So I do keep them if they have them, but a missing one won't really bother me.

They're important, I ignore some albums when they don't have their spinecard.

Here's a related question about obis.

Why are they important to some of you? Is it the information that might be in them, is it the need to have the complete package, or something else?

Sometimes the obi is the only place on the album where you can find the distributor details, so they're not totally redundant information-wise.

I've always kept them, simply because they ARE part of the package.

New Albums seem naked and don't feel complete without them, but when I'm buying used it's not a deal-breaker when the album itself is hard to come by. Over half of the used oldies I've bought still have them though, so if you do plan on selling things later it IS a pretty important to keep them around.

I love keeping the obis whenever any of my CDs comes with it. It's a nice addition to have instead of just the CD Case + Contents inside. They look really cool when you get them new and makes it feel like it's such a special item to own. If I came across albums without them I wouldn't mind much especially when it's a hard to find album. It's definitely not worth tracking down on the internet if you happen to lose one, as that would cost you depending on the deal you're getting, or even if there is one for sale itself. Won't cost much but it would be a waste of time searching.
