Where is the source for the composers for Yoshi's Cookie? I have looked around a lot and not found anything about "Akira Nobuya" and "Noriko Tsutomu". The SNES credits from the game does not list anything about any composers. Do the credits from the NES game list both composers?
Some sites seem to think that there are four composers instead of two, for the NES and GB soundtrack; "Akira", "Nobuya", "Noriko", and "Tsutomu". Another site I found lists "Akira Sato", "Noriko Nishizaka", "Tsutomu", and "Nobuya" as possible composers. This last site was the only one that actually had proper names for anyone instead of just romanized names. This might not be 100% accurate, but my dictionary seems to think that "Akira", "Nobuya", "Noriko", and "Tsutomu" are all first names, none of them show up as surnames. http://www.vgmpf.com/Wiki/index.php?title=Akira_Sato http://www.vgmpf.com/Wiki/index.php?...riko_Nishizaka http://higetendo.suppa.jp/nintendo_composers/games.html http://www21.atwiki.jp/gamemusicbest100/pages/1088.html |

NES version does have credits, and it lists four people for music by first name only. "Akira Nobuya" and "Noriko Tsutomu" were someone misinterpreting the credits. https://vgmdb.net/forums/showthread.php?p=52529
There's an Akira Satou in the 1993 TOSE Game Boy game Crayon Shin-Chan: Ora to Shiro wa Otomodachi Dayo, so that's probably "Akira." I'm not especially convinced that they're the same person as the Seibu Keihatsu Akira Sato who composed Raiden. There are a few TOSE Norikos. The one whose earliest known work is closest to Yoshi's Cookie is Noriko Nishizaka, who did the 1998 Game Boy Color game Game & Watch Collection 2 (3 in Japan). The Japanese SNES version could potentially have development credits, but I've never seen them if they exist. The Game Boy version credits the same four people. |

Thanks for the reply! That helps a bit, even though I'll probably never know exactly who they are.

Was comparing this to Super Mario World, it seems one of the map themes (World 5 Map [Sky]) is missing from the Mario 3 section unless I'm overlooking it.
Edit: The "Whistle Sound + Warp Map" has the World 5 Map [Sky] Music, it doesn't get a separate track on here. Also, the falling noise Bowser makes when defeated is included in "Bowser Defeated." Last edited by Brad Evans II; Nov 8, 2017 at 01:06 PM. |

"Famicom Sound History Series", but this is the only entry in the series

There are two other entries under the "Sound History" moniker. But yeah, I wouldn't call it a series exactly.

I think this album is nicely done. Every music/jingle has its own separate track.
It would have been amazing to have a 2nd disc with Super Mario Land 1/2/3, as well as Dr. Mario and Yoshi's Cookie for Game Boy, but then it wouldn't have been a Famicom album. |
