This album is a bit complicated to catalog. This is an image album for the manga BE FREE! (it is part of the visual sound series), and at the same time some songs (BELIEVE IN FREE and RUNNING BOOGIE by WALTHER) are used in the live action movie BE FREE! released on 9 August 1986:

My CD booklet mentions too the cast and the film staff, so the music was maybe planned to be used in the movie also. According to Wikipedia, the music of the movie is too by Fujimaru Yoshino. But I don't know if the instrumental tracks (3&9) of this album are used in it.

In short, I hesitate to add Original Soundtrack and Movie in the classification / platforms represented because of the 2 songs performed by WALTHER, and if I should consider this album just like an image album or not.


Eri Ishida/石田えり is a famous Japanese actress. She was married to Fujimaru Yoshino, the main composer and arranger of this album, between 1985 and 1990.

I don't find true sources for the romanization of these artists (I tried to use Jasrac website, but the database doesn't work at the moment), so my guess are :
松浦かずみ: should be Kazumi Matsuura
たかはら良: maybe Ryō Takahara?
村田かおり: should be Kaori Murata
