Maybe we should have separate entries for these, since at least the booklets differ (seems to be only text wise). I wonder if the discs have anything useful printed on the inner rims?

You mean the booklets packaged with the Japanese and the US versions are different? Definitely different entries.

Have we seen the Japanese booklet? I thought it was weird that they'd put everything in English, but even more strange that they would print two different versions of a promotional disc. I uploaded all the US scans, so feel free to separate out the release (it should be released on November 26, the shelf-date for CT in the US).

I've only got these two scans. As you can see it seems to only differ text wise.

Is there anything of use - cat. number wise - printed on the inner rim of the US disc, Arcubalis?

Couple different things:

404489-2 CTEX-2008 FI815

Then on the other side:

IFPI L605

There's also something very small on the very inner-rim:

IFPI IC83

Not sure what any of this is? Maybe the CTEX-2008 is best? I'm actually of the mind that if there isn't a catalogue number on the packing, we shouldn't incude stuff that's printed in the tiniest font on the disc, but I guess that's not my decision.

Should probably separate this out based on the different language text and the different release dates though. I posted the other information above.

CTEX-2008 should be it (it's actually printed on the disc label, on the same line as "not for sale"). The IFPI numbers are not unique identifiers, they're related to the disc pressing process. Information here.

Very interesting. Yeah, I see the CTEX-2008 on the back now.

Guess we need to separate out this one at then the Wrath of the Lich King release earlier this month.

Changed the Japanese release date to Nov 20, apparently it was pushed out a week early:

Of course this a great soundtrack, but only two tracks. The Main Theme is kind of overplayed now, still good though. However, the medley is god damn fantastic. Put together very well. Got to love that ending.

So if they brought an orchestra together for these two songs, wouldn't you think they recorded more then just two tracks? Maybe for a future full CC orchestra album? Or maybe for the CC Arrange album?

It's a crime that this disc isn't longer.

I just saw a black album titled Chrono Trigger Orchestra Something, but I can't seem to find it listed here. Looks like it was a Square Enix Members bonus but I can't be sure. Does anyone know?

It would help us if you give us the source of what you "saw".

I've added the black front / disc to the gallery and added a note. It was a special fan club release, given at random to 3,000 members of Square's fan club for Chrono Trigger in a random drawing in February 2009.

Here's English coverage: http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/200...sent_campaign/
