Do we know yet if the two Bluray discs will have more music than the 4 CD soundtrack? I mean, they'd certainly have the capacity to (looks disdainfully, and yet gleefully, at all the FFXIV music...)
I have to decide which version to pick up. I'd normally prefer CD, but if it's "incomplete" compared to the Bluray set, I know which way I'd want to go. (God forbid they have mutually exclusive content. That would ruin my universe!) |

Nah - I think you know deep inside that you want both
The word is that the CD edition will have all the original music from the game, as per the standard blu-ray. This blu-ray special edition will have a lot of extras (in-game radio soundtrack of stuff from earlier FF games, and piano arrangements) but supposedly no exclusive OST tracks. |

that release will be interesting if there wasn't being that useless compilation blu-ray disc
some people could get it for ffxv ost and that piano cd and finally s-e could announce a release of that piano cd way later ;p (honestly, it could be a bad idea to buy that just for the piano cd) |

And it could also be a bad idea to skip this release, just to find it sells out pretty quick, leaving you with only YJA to obtain the piano collections.

I'm not going to buy a BR-A that has almost 200 tracks I already own just for a piano disc that probably will be released later, as much as I want the piano music.
But that's just me. |

Okay, so the "Stand by Me" track by Florence + The Machine is only listed in the Extra's of the bluray disc. Does that get added to the track list as the 97th track or..? It's not in the MP3DATA folder on the disc unfortunately.
See extras: http://i.imgur.com/l7bisXo.png Also, it seems half of the songs on the Special Music Collection bluray are in Japanese and half are in English. Too bad that this disc does not have a MP3DATA folder itself. Same track names though as ingame so should be fun for someone to get all those written down. Nevermind, could see about getting the list from http://www.novacrystallis.com/2016/0...ntasy-xvs-car/ but not sure on how to apply it. Last edited by Ryan PM; Dec 23, 2016 at 03:24 AM. If Disc 2 has all the tracks in that link you posted, then there's a total of 413 tracks on this album. Going to be a nightmare adding all the credits.

Can you get "Stand by Me" as an MP3 off the Blu-Ray like you can the rest of the tracks?

No, it is only a small video extra on the main disc.
Also, the car music disc only contains the albums listed on the inner jacket for that disc. |

I'm honestly not sure what the purpose of having a Regalia collection is without the Regalia-exclusive tracks unless the visual component is incredible; my copy hasn't shown up yet so I can't attest to that. It also seems pretty useless to not include a digital version of the Regalia disc, but for all there is to consider, maybe Square thinks it'll sabotage album sales otherwhere. Also weird that they picked the wrong covers (and by extension, arrangements) for several of the represented albums in that sleeve. The original versions of I, II, IV and Type-0 HD aren't even on that disc.

Who is the composer of the Regalia-exclusive tracks ?

Same here, I was looking forward to listening to "Sky Smilin' Down on Me" and it's not even included on the Regalia disc, rather disappointing.

OK I put together a compiled tracklist in Japanese of the second disc. It took me about six hours to get it together. I'm not sure if it would be rejected or not so I am posting here first.
Since its so big I collapsed it into a Spoiler tag to avoid cluttering the post. Spoiler:

Thanks for compiling that!
What's the source on the English second disc soundtrack translation? Just the Nova Chrysalis site? There are a couple of errors in the track names over there; I feel like it makes more sense to go with what's in-game/official translated OR something more literal, as opposed to a mix of the two. The only in-game error I can think of is "Torn from the Heavens" being labeled as "Hard to Miss," which isn't even in the game. My copy arrived today, by the way. The second disc has zero visual component at all, actually. I'm not sure what I expected, but I guess I'm not understanding the purpose if the blu-ray format isn't providing anything beyond disc storage. The other blu-ray releases Square's put out have been stellar but this Regalia collection is pretty poor. No digital version, no Regalia-specific tracks, no visual accompaniment, incorrect album art, etc. Just seems like a waste. I could have given this a pass if there'd even been some basic Regalia drive-around footage. Alas, there is not. |

So, do "I Will Be" and "Too Much is Never Enough" actually appear in the game, or just in trailers for the game?

"Too Much Is Never Enough" plays in the Credits available from the main menu after completing the game. I never heard "I Will Be" in any capacity in the game one way or another though.

Does anyone know what happened to the "Lucian Cruisin' Collection"? It's nowhere to be found, isn't it? Three and more soundtrack releases of this game, and not even then all music tracks are present. Kind of dissapointing, Square Enix! Also, for not giving individual artist breakdowns this time.

Like with Final Symphony I also did an analysis of the mastering quality of this release.
You can find the plots and the computed (EBU R128) dynamic ranges for the tracks here: Link After Final Symphony doing so well in the mastering deparment, this release is again a major trainwreck. A cheap upsampling from a 48kHz (or 44.1kHz) master, with emphasis on 'cheap' (resampling artifacts all over the place). Dynamic range peaks at around 20dB, so nothing 16-bit samples couldn't handle. |

Does anyone know what flute instrument was used in the track Wanderlust? Is it just a regular concert flute playing in a lower range than usual? Or maybe an Irish flute? I love the sound, I really want to know!

Does anyone happen to have higher quality scans/images of the OST cover front (black cover with the 4 guys) as well as the cover for the piano bonus disc? It would seem what's posted here is the only copy on the web.

I still have this physical set from when I uploaded it all those years ago. I could try retaking them at a later point in the week, though I doubt my scanner will do them justice (different scanner / printer than 2016).
