The You Are The Fox-series of albums is one of the most unique collections of music I have ever heard from a video game composer, heck any musician, ever. With one foot firmly in modern Japanese culture, one foot in the world of analog synthesizers, one hand playing at the speed of light and one hand asking the world to collectively fuck off these albums are a tongue-in-cheek tribute to the quirky Japanese music of yesteryear.
The albums shifts quickly from dadaist nonsense, via commercials, children's music to straight-up synth anthems. You Are The Fox 4 is definitely the album that is most easily listenable. Highlights include Go to Fontana (Demo and non-demo), Nomans Space (reminiscent of the ambient Jade Cocoon parts) and Space Golf.
If you can get a hold of these, do yourself a favor and pick them up.
