Now another round of wild expeculation (maybe a big stretch, but still...).
- SNK twitters (SHA-V, Akihiro Uchida, Tomoko Imoto, Hirotomi Imoto, Yamadub, Kyo-chan, etc) have recently been following Maiko Iuchi, composer of I've Sound (only her and not other I've girls) - Iuchi entered I've in 2002 - KOF99 AST liner notes identify maitaro/USAKO-X as female Could it be...? (or maybe Macky...) Also added a bit about Mitsuo/Macky at the end of the composer list. I update irregularly these lists btw, and the random tidbits (did you know? Brother Hige did the "violent fighting to come again" and other legendary intros). Nothing about SHA-V and Tate_Norio not being in KOF13 afaik. Apparently the OST doesn't even have the composers or liner notes. I haven't found out anything about KIRA/DECO yet, NGPC credits aren't easy to come by. Well, look who I found: Masahiko Ishida
According to his myspace he worked on Image Fight and R-Type 2, and lately in Metal Slug SV001 (slot machine) So this man is the ex-irem OH!GI and still works in SNK as CHAN☆GON. From SGZ era he is probably either Hori_Hori or Q_Jirou (possibly the former) but I haven't connected all dots. |

Well that's a pretty rad find.
I'm not sure what the source connecting the names was (maybe some old liner notes), but a few places like GMCL have listed "M. Ishida" as another alias for OH!GI/GEEO for quite some time. Seems like a solid link now! |

I'm not sure if this contains any new or useful information, but I just discovered that BSM, who used to have a bunch of album pages until Infoseek Japan killed hosting, also had an SGZ fanpage: http://web.archive.org/web/200904171...shinsekai.html. The members page has a pretty thorough listing of people, but it seems like he talks about games and roles, not identities.

The Samurai Spirits RPG OST credits "Rabbit-Hamachan" with programming. Any idea if that could be someone we already know? Maybe USAKO-X???

Double posting because I found a nice resolution video of the Cool Cool Toon ending: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGwJT0wEJPs#t=16m08s.
米谷 敏洋 (incorrectly reported on some sites as 祐洋). Don't have anything 100% definite, but a Toshihiro Yonetani appears in the credits of the Sammy arcade game Dolphin Blue along with some very interesting names~~~: http://members.jcom.home.ne.jp/msl/staff.htm. 内田 亜紀裕 -> Akihiro Uchida -> https://www.facebook.com/akihiro.uchida.50 中山 譲 -> Yuzuru Nakayama 野川 靖友 -> Yasutomo Nogawa All the vocal music-writing credits are arrangement, not composition. No composers are listed for any of the songs, unfortunately. Looks good, I think this is probably Hiroko Shigezumi. 井筒 稔晴 -> Toshiharu Izutsu |

Veeery good. Dolphin Blue also has a bunch of Metal Slug people in various tasks (Hiya! the producer?)
I wonder if Cool Cool Toon has liner notes... :3 Uchida being Ackey (Acky) from tw (missed that one before). This site also lists Yoko Osaka = Oh Chan. I'll try to check those staff rolls (someday) but with the image and all seems pretty legit. There is also "Aran Lee Shige". Rabbit-Hamachan no idea, but IIRC some liner notes say Usako-X debuted in KOF99, probably not her. |

USAKO-X was a random guess based on "usa," hahaha. The only other guess I have is Kyoko Naka, because she says she both composed and programmed for the game, and the OST credits composers and programmers separately (Yassun is credited as both). But then she'd be credited under two aliases. SNK
And yeah, VGMPF is pretty cool. They contact composers a lot, which is neat; gotta love the social media age. Their Japanese names are teeeeeeeeeeeeerrible, though. I'm pretty sure whoever's in charge of that just uses Japanese text entry or a dictionary and picks a result, based on things like "甘木市 信じ" for Shinji Amagishi (correct is 天岸 真志). |

Well, and what's about Capcom logo sound composition? Does someone know who did it?

Came accross this page and it has some info about Shinsekai Gakkyoku Zatsugidan with Konny's real name being Kazuhiro Nishida. Also some aliases for Yoko Osaka.
Yoko Osaka Kazuhiro Nishida |

Dag figured out that Kenny = Kazuhiro Nishida a while back based on Iron Tank using aliases in the staff roll in the Japanese version and real names in the U.S. version. I guess they decided that Kenny = Konny too? I'm not sure there's direct evidence, but it's extremely likely based on the similarity.

Some games do credit both Kenny and Konny, but it's always possible I guess.

Probably the most important interview we've done in a long time: http://www.vgmonline.net/yasumasayamadainterview/
Provides some rare insights into the creation of music and sounds at SNK. It's the first English interview with a SNK sound veteran to my knowledge. Hope we might be able to interview a couple more SNK veterans at some point. I'd be happy to ask Yamada-san privately if he can confirm those aliases people have very insightfully worked-out here. |

Well that's ace. More SNK stuff is always a good thing.
My first post has a list of the current known identities but if you can squeeze out some more names that'd be super cool too :3 Here are some comments about Half Minute Hero 2 by Yamapy as well. |

"That's weird," I said to myself, "and of course there's no source for that." So I did a little searching, and I dug up this Kyoko Naka tweet from 2011 where she names Iuchi as ex-SNK staff: https://twitter.com/kyochan_piano/st...68949118603264 Quote:

You think it's safe enough to assign Zoe as male based on the honorifics here, since Ackey explicitly genders Kyo-Chan, or is it better not to read too much into it?

Oh certainly. I actually knew from older liner notes but seems I forgot to update his entry.
氏 can be used with females I believe, but in the liner notes they often specify. Weekend assignment, update all known genders in my first post and artist pages. Last edited by Dag; Oct 7, 2016 at 08:13 AM. |
