The USB tracks for Super Turrican and Mega Turrican correctly use generic names for stage tunes, but I thought to write down an AKA chart applying Turrican 3 theme titles (or new arrangement titles found on TSA Vol.4 for ST1) to each corresponding tune:

Kinda bothers me that Turrican 3 is being treated as the default, Super and Mega are the real "Turrican III". 3 doesn't even sound right; other than the cool intro tune and slightly better ending, it has some really poor instrumentation that the first, II, Mega, and Super simply do not. If 3's soundtrack is at least the source, it's a good thing he decided to overhaul for Mega; if it's a cheap port, then it's just a cheap port of course.

I think Factory Action (or that + Platform Action) was originally called Bionic Action? One of those albums... Anyway, I know Mega combines them into one thing, but with one section removed... that section alone is still in there as an unused track.

No, they aren't. They were released before just because of market considerations and issues with publishers. The third chapter began its life on the Amiga and it's pretty obvious musically as well - T3 music isn't expanded from Mega's score, but the opposite: Mega is an adaptation of it.

I guess the good of this OSV is that everyone can easily judge for themselves now. I'd say it takes courage to say T3 sounds worse than Mega, but to each his own I guess. Surely Chris put a lot of effort on all these soundtracks, trying to exploit each hardware to its very best.

Bionic Action is the title chosen for the 1993 album. That track is a blend between Factory Action and Platform Action.

By the way, the OSV is now available for sale on Bandcamp, conveniently split into two volumes (Vol.1 covers Amiga, Vol.2 consoles)
