There are a few things worth mentioning about the tracklist translation.
"雪の五条大橋" (Original Track's Title #1 & #9) Currently translated as "Snow on the Great Bridge" 五条大橋 = Gojo Ohashi Bridge Here you can learn quite a bit about this bridge and another monuments. So, my take would be "Snow on the Gojo Ohashi Bridge" "江戸を斬る" (Original Track's Title #3 & #15) Currently translated as "The Raid on Edo" Sincerely, I don't know why it was translated as "The Raid", but that's not correct. Fortunately, there is a Jidaigeki which has the same title as the track discussed. Btw, it was translated as "Slashing Edo" and therefore that's my choice. "阿修羅" (Original Track's Title #8) Currently translated as "Ashura" It should be "Asura" and not "Ashura". Asura is the demon Ashura is tenth in Arabic. "哀愁の天守閣" (Original Track's Title #11) Currently translated as "Tower of Tears" Just for the record 天守閣 = Tenshukaku Anyway, this term is frequently translated as: castle tower; keep; donjon. I think "Castle Tower of Sorrow" would be a more appropiate title. "ぬえ" (Original Track's Title #12) Currently translated as "Chimera" I don't know if I should change the title of this track but Nue would be the correct term. This is not, precisely, your regular Chimera. |

Additionally, I would always go with surname-first when referring to historical persons - it just sounds more 'right', to me at least. Last edited by seanne; Feb 13, 2010 at 03:55 PM. |

Regarding the bridge issue, it's a matter of taste. In my modest opinion, I think "Gojo Ohashi Bridge" is more adequate (even if this translation is a bit redundant), furthermore there is a pic that reinforces my belief: I don't know very much about castle terminology, but I trust in your word, so 'Castle Tower' will be changed into 'Castle Keep'. I understand your point in the surname-first thing and I share it. So, I'll change it to fit into the style of this site. Thanks for the input, seanne! Your suggestions have been very useful and it's good to know that someone else cares about the tracklist translation of such an ancient album. Last edited by isdapi; Feb 14, 2010 at 02:10 AM. |

She's the sole composer for both Sengoku and Pyramid Sorcerian.

Not sure how I missed this on first listen awhile back, but Gaddlegun should sound...VERY familiar to Ys III fans. I actually like it more than 95% of the ACTUAL arrangements of Snare of Darkness.
