Japs strike again. What the heck is wrong with some of these people... Disturbing stuff to say the least.

Seriously, when I saw this listed on vgmdb I was like "what. the. fuck."
Three cheers to doujin albums eh? |

It's obviously tongue in cheek, the sheer audacity of it made me laugh.
You prudes =p And regarding the "Japs" comment, Shingo Dj is from Argentina |

I'm not that much of a critics. It's just fictional and it hurts no one, so I wouldn't take it that serious. The music is actually good. I like it.

It reminds me of people who use the term loosely to mean I conquered someone/something. Like, "I raped that math test, it was so easy." If someone who's been raped or has someone close to them who's been raped hears that in passing, it brings back all sorts of horrid memories. So I'm not sure prudishness is the only issue here. Sensitivity to real human beings is a slightly more virtuous reason to object to it than being a prude. Ramza |

I don't know why you bothered adding all those pointless anime/hentai albums on the site in the first place... what a waste of time and pollution to this great video game music databse. Pretty sad in my opinion.

I would like you to justify the exclusion of an album like this from the database. If it's included, then so should all eroge-related albums, no matter the art depicted on the covers. We have NSFW indicators for this purpose. Music is music. Debate about the morality of the content it is associated with is pointless, since you might as well make a case for the exclusion of, say, GTA4 albums from this database due to the violence in the videogame. If such albums genuinely bother you, I could add a "blacklist" feature. (VNDB has such a feature, though I'm not sure if it filters listings and search results). And maybe a feature like what Youtube employs, have the community "flag" an album for "offensive" content such that public viewers have to click through a confirmation screen. |

Dragon Quest music is associated with Koichi Sugiyama and he is apparently associated with conservative views in regards to Japanese wartime history, which may offend some people.
Should we delete every Dragon Quest soundtrack from the database? |

It's the socialist VGMdb revolution. Remove all of Sugi's albums! (and all of Matsuo and Takenouchi's too, for ever associating themselves with such filth). Despicable.
LuxKiller65: At least they're actually game related :P there are albums listed on this site that have nothing to do with video game music. Besides, some of those hentai game soundtracks are pretty rad (coming from someone who's never played a hentai game in his life... honest... stop looking at me like that.) I guess you could censor albums with adult themes/content/language - something similar to how youtube does it would be okay I guess. So long as the information is not only visible to registered members... it should still be available to everyone, I mean it's only CD information for goodness sakes. Personally I think if people find it offensive they should just JEW OFF, but that's me.

I don't think silliness like this album should be passed over, but due to there being some albums that have sexually indecent or ignoble covers/titles isn't enough reason to make a post that could potentially be taken as offence to the whole specific country. I'm not the right person to say this, though.

I'd hope that the community would be mature enough to view its role simply as information gathering/reporting and the look beyond the actual context/content of an album. Besides, from what I've seen the game music scene is still relatively benign in comparison to other media... Save the hurt feelings, politicking, and agendas for Wikipedia, please. It's just like at GMR: there were always those "purists" who would erase entries from doujins and game-to-anime spinoffs (like the one guy that deleted all the Final Fantasy anime albums.) Eventually Mik had to make a statement imploring people to stop erasing them.
That's why deletion isn't available to the public. Anyway, it's already been said, but yes our passion here is to cover game music without judgement of the game contents, and hentai game music is game music. |

Sorry for having looked pro-censorship or something like that; what I had in mind was just the fact that kids visit this site, and I wouldn't want my kids to look at porn pictures, be it accidentally or not, on a site like this. Of course this is a catalogue site, and I myself waste time scanning stuff and finding pictures for it; I just wanted to point out that had I been much younger, I would have been shocked to see some cover arts. I know it takes much less than VGMdb to find porn on the Internet though, you might as well argue. |

Non-members (or those not logged in) will see a NSFW warning in place of an "unsafe" cover art. I *could* enforce that warning for members below an age threshold, though only as a matter of principle since birthdates can't really be verified.
As an aside, I'm not sure we should censor strong language in tracklists and album titles. I don't think even social networking sites go that far. |

A suggestion regarding NSFW album art: in the space where you display the front cover, if the front cover ITSELF contains nudity, have a block over that space that just says "NSFW" over it, and then if you want to see it you can navigate the image gallery on the right. This should go for everyone, including members, shouldn't it? Or is there a place in my member info where I can put on a content filter? Ramza |

We should probably code up an NSFW switch in the user control panel so that this doesn't happen.

I never expected that this entry would serve for so much fuss.
Of corse, it contains game music. School Days and CLANNAD are, as many people know, games. I actually view the entire hentai/pornographic/strong language issue very neutral. Darkness and light. Without darkness; no light. That counts for everything in life. "This is bad! This has to go!" is a totally wrong attitude. Co-existence and understanding is the keyword. And about the indiependent album entry topic; Please, don't be so shallow. For people without sufficient background knowledge, they might seem unrelated to VGM, but that's actually not true. If everyone would understand the japanese doujin scene, everyone would probably view it from a different angle. Much of these indies contain various samples from games and anime. It's to hard, and sometimes kind of impossible, to mention all of them in the "Products represented" field. It would be simply to much effort for someone with a vital time management. |
