Hmm, where does the information about this release come from? Not that I doubt it, just being curious here

Added CDJapan shop link, since the release became available there.

Quoting from CDJapan:
Quote:
Original soundtrack release from PS3 game "Atelier Meruru (Meruru no Atelier)" featuring three CDs. Disc 1 features intro theme "Cadena" sung by Mineko Yamamoto, outro theme "Metro" sung by mao, insert songs "Cloudy" sung by Chata, "Little Crown" sung by Mutsumi Nomiyama, and "Renkin Shojo Meruru no Uta" sung by Marie, and more. Disc 2 and 3 includes BGM. Comes with a 28-page booklet. Features original slipcase and picture disc.
Looks like a pretty big release. Also CDJapan has first press bonus available, which is "32-page sheet music".

Is Daisuke Achiwa composing for this game?!

http://team-e.co.jp/products/kdsd-10059-10061.html

"Alcyone" and "Astral Blader" are DEFINITELY not in line with this trilogy's normal music. It has been a while since I've listened, but I definitely don't remember rock to that degree.

Haven't listened to any samples yet, but Achiwa returning to the series would be a big plus.

A third composer for the Arland series to fill the hole of Ken Nakagawa, who I assume left Gust and may not be involved this time, is likely. Kazuki Yanagawa is already confirmed, but perhaps a three disc OST is a bit too large for a single person with a short composer career.

Sometimes in 2010, if it ever happened. He still can return as a contracted worker though.

Ah, you're hinting at the missing (GUST) behind his composer credits, right? Anyway, that's certainly interesting... I just hope that he isn't completly absent from the Meruru score.

Oh, now even Yanagawa left. I assume Gust doesn't do a good job of keeping in-house composers (yet interesting to see it's Tsuchiya and Achiwa, the two veterans, who still stay).

Anyway, translations are much needed, but I think it's a bit tough (at least to me). Among the hardest is 3-28, but which was from Totori, and perhaps we'll see a definitive translation via the game's sound test if ever localized. 2-26 and 3-14 aren't easier too.

I tweaked some tracks of the submitted tracklist.

2-15: I think it's just supposed to mean "廃坑", so "Abandoned Mine!".
2-18: "Atelier" would be better than "Workshop" (but I don't know how it's usually refereed in the game context.
From 3-15 to 3-28, I added the bracket to make it clearer that "for meruru" means they were the arranged version from the previous installments (I guess no separator was needed in the original tracklist due to the character difference between Japanese and English)

I think Tsuchiya stays because he's more than composer. Much like Shoji Meguro at Atlus, they've sort of become senior creative leads.

I think the newly submitted translations looked pretty good, but I don't think we should get too creative with the text that's already in English. So, I changed some things back (END, for meruru).

Is there a reason for having all those double whitespaces in the tracklist?

I guess there's really no reason for them.

About the "for meruru" and "~for Atelier Meruru~" things: I was following the convention used in the official naming of a track in the Atelier Totori OST since it looks much better once the main title is translated into English. I don't care much either way, but it was a lot nicer on the eyes before IMHO.

Finally found some time to add the individual track credits.

Haven't found a romanization for the trumpet player (高橋勇太郎) though. Only thing I can see in the booklet, is that he's apparantly a member of the "hi-lite Brass Quintet"

Right, 髙橋勇太郎 たかはしゆうたろう
http://kodomoonken.com/?page_id=19
Romaji from the filename of his photo (yutaro takahashi.jpg, very thankful to whom made the filename. )

The shape of 髙 is slightly different from the usual 高, but his name from another album is the usual one.
So, put the name with 髙 on Variations.
