Can anyone who owns this confirm or elaborate on the hissing issue mentioned in the notes? I came across this album in a local shop for cheaper than I usually see it but it's still a lot of money and I'm hesitant to jump on it.

EDIT: I decided to get it since I figured I can always sell it for a small profit if need be. Can confirm there is a low hum/buzz on the left side. Not the most distracting thing in the world, but unfortunate considering how good the music is and the fact that this is never gonna see a reprint.

Do you have a screenshot of a waveform you could share showing the buzz? I recently got a copy, and didn't notice any hum or buzz on either side. It might just be that my ears are getting too old, or maybe I'm listening to the wrong tracks.

I read about the hissing after I bought mine, I'd never noticed anything unusual. I just tried listening to the entire ost with headphones and turned the volume up somewhat high, and it still it sounds normal to me, the arranged tracks sounded a bit off at times, I think there might be some kind of residual noise on the left side, can anyone confirm this? I don't know if that's what they're referring to.

I'd like to see evidence of the sound quality too, I'd provide it myself if I had the resources.

There's nothing wrong with the arranged tracks. Every single track of the in-game music (both CD's) has a low buzz on the left channel. Maybe you guys are mistaking it as normal SNES background noise but if you compare with the gamerip it sounds way off.

Thanks for explaining, I just tested it again and now that I knew what to listen for I did hear it, I mistook it for some kind of low Bass or background noise like you suggested, I compared it to the game audio just to be sure and as you stated it's not there.

It's unfortunate really, I don't mind it too much but the sound quality could be a dealbreaker for some.
