I don't know why they put a spacing between TAK and KYUMUSUME, but even though igrone all capital letters, 'Takkyumusume' should be 'Tak Kyumusume'.
Check the title logo http://syakunetsu.com/ |

卓球 is romanized as Takkyu in the title, so I think it makes more sense to leave it as that for the performer too.

Of course both is made from two words.
However 卓球娘 is ONE word and has the official English word of Takkyumusume, 卓球部 is also ONE word and has no official English word now. So it should go with a usual romaji, Takkyuubu. |

Consistency is more important, it's confusing to use Takkyu in the notes/product and Takkyuu in the title when it's the same word (adding a suffix doesn't make a word different).
It's also the same reason why the song is romanized as Syakunetsu Switch and not Shakunetsu Switch. Same word, same romanization. |

娘 and 部 are not suffixs but WORDs, They can be used as independent words unlink suffix.
卓球娘 and 卓球部 are compounds(合成語) like 'well-made(made+well)'. Compound is made from 2 or more words, but once words are formded as one word, it is regarded as an independent word. Syakunetsu is not a proper example cause it is already an independent word, and not a compound. |

I know what a compound is. 部 is not only a suffix in this case, but it's generally more often used as suffix than not. 娘 is generally used as a noun, but it's clearly used as suffix here.

娘 is not a suffix also in this case.
When it is combined with word(s), the compound gets the meaning of "a girl or woman doing [something]" keeping its own meaning of 'girl/woman'. So, 卓球娘 is a pingpong girl (a girl who plays pingpong), 看板娘(kanbanmusume) is a woman who doing trademark[an representative existence like a trademark] of a store/restorant/etc.. Ikamusume is a girl of squid. You have already seen tons of compounds with 娘 (blablaMUSUME). And 部 is also not a suffix in this case. it's 'club'. Compounds which 部 can made also have tons of examples like 娘. Last edited by whatkind; Oct 25, 2016 at 02:25 AM. |

I agree with Illidan. Official spelling should be used so it's consistent with the title.
On a different note, I don't really see the point in making an artist page for a one-off anime group. |

Illidan, I'm not lecturing here now, just saying about how to regard it for proper romanization.
nextday, I have seen such entries. it is like Ranma-teki Kagekidan Goikkousama. Is it worse than unromanized uninformative entries without referable web links like this? http://vgmdb.net/artist/20208 In face, I made it cause it is nomed as the album artist (and on the cover). It starts making sense if they're credited in a bunch of albums like the one you linked, or for example Rhodanthe* (they even released a full album), but just for a single and maybe the tv-size version on the OST, we never create them because there's no point. We don't really want to have the artist pages filled with one-off units memberships, or the million sub-units from franchises such as IDOLM@STER. Moved the members list in the singles and removed the unit. Last edited by Illidan; Oct 26, 2016 at 01:05 AM. |

The standard for these anime units is generally for them to have numerous releases. Like Illidan says, seiyuu artist pages would be very cluttered if they were linked to every single anime specific group they were a part of. So making a page for a group like Trident (no page currently), which has a few singles and an album, is okay. Making a page for a group like this one, which only has one single, isn't. |

Artist pages were actually being made for individual, anime fictional characters in the past. That's nothing more than a voice actor's role (today's pattern of "character name CV: actor's name" or such), for example
Spoiler:
...and I admit I'm not a fan of that. I think it's not happening nowadays though and the voice actor (singer) is just linked directly. |
