retranslations
@thomas06

Your submission has been put on hold.

Type: track edit
Reason: I am putting these on hold for now. Can you go through and explain each of the changes to the translation you are proposing? The existing translation is from one of the site's better translators, so every change needs discussion.

I didn't look at all of them, but I gave pause at this one: `掉尾の勇`, which you changed from "Metempsychosis: Courage of a Last Effort" to "Metempsychosis: Last Effort of Bravery". の is a possessive case postpositional particle, so the existing translation was correct. Courage vs Bravery is probably subjective.

I mostly chose translations that were more literal and less subjective, since some terms in japanese have different names. I wasn't entirely sure if the original translations were the best, especially Blue-Red vs a Devil

I stopped to be literal in translations very long ago

some hints about my method:
when I translate/romanize a tracklist, I always check official sites, jasrac and other sites to know if some tracks could be names or nouns (not always evident)
I never randomize, if some tracknames don't seem to be translated that's because there's a reason behind that (chara, place, etc.)
I can spend days/weeks on a translation for phrasing the tracknames in a certain way
also, I like using alliterations (for example in https://vgmdb.net/album/37589 I used obsc-ur/en-e etc.)
or uncommon words you will prolly never see elsewhere (for example pyrophoric in saga scarlet grace ost)

as for that a/the devil example, from memory, I prolly used that to make a distinction between "a devil" (bad guy) and "the devil" (satan, beelzebub, lord of demons, etc.)

Thanks for the replies. I think it is better to keep the existing translation for this.

retranslations
@thomas06

Your submission has been rejected.

Type: track edit
Reason: Restoring Phono's translation, which is more nuanced and less literal.

If you feel the rejection is in error, please post further information or evidence here.
