Did we just get an official english tracklist after 20 years ? It's pretty amazing. I'm really glad the game is still getting some love.

Now to hoping that the live tour in november gets a blu-ray release too.

jasrac has english tracklist for years, it doesn't make 20 years (even if it has been changed for revival)

Oh, I didn't know that ! I don't know much about the way JASRAC works, did the tracklist come from the publisher directly (Square Enix in this case) ?

At least this one will probably get printed in the booklet like the other revival discs, which is great !

no idea who put it on jasrac, it can be a composer or a vague employee of square(-enix) having access to a jasrac account
as far as I know, jasrac doesn't log whoever adds entries

Can anyone who bought this offer their opinion on whether the sound quality is noticeably improved due to Mitsuda remastering this? I was less than impressed with the difference in quality of the Xenogears Revival Disc, but since Mitsuda handled this one himself, I have higher hopes. But I don't want to spend the cash if the improvement is only marginal.

I'm still in the process of listening, and I am by no means a professionnal. Most of the tracks I've heard really don't have that much improvement, others are very noticeably improved ("Shadow Forest", "Dragon God", "Life -A Distant Promise", "The Dead Sea", "Chronopolis" which have much less panning now), those I could hear the changes instantly without having to listen back to the first soundtrack. For now I feel like not enough tracks got this special treatment so I can't say if it's absolutely worth it, but it most definitely is for me (I may be a bit biased as it is my favorite sountrack ever).

It's still just my first iimpressions but I hope it helps a little !

Thanks for the response. Yeah, similarly for me, Xenogears is my favorite soundtrack so I bought the Revival Disc without hesitation. I absolutely adore the Chrono Cross soundtrack as well though, which is why I’m even considering picking this up. But I already have two copies of it (standard and white slipcase version). DonI really need a third if the quality isn’t really that different? Anyway, I’ll keep thinking about it.

For one, the revival disc is not brickwalled like the original release. Also, the revival disc sounds less harsh and less fatiguing than the original CDs on my listening gear. Interesting that the original Xenogears soundtrack released in 1998, about a year earlier than the Chrono Cross release, had a far better mastering job.

There are definitely improvements in the Yasunori Mitsuda based Revival Discs (Chrono Cross, Chrono Trigger, Xenogears), while there are hardly no differences (at least to me) in Uematsu's Final Fantasy Revival Discs. I didn't notice anything special at FF7 RD and the other ones were simply reprints of their Remastered Versions a few years earlier I guess.

You can easily hear the differences in percussive tracks like "The Brink of Death" or "Whirlwind" but also tracks like "Plains of Time (Home World)" sound much clearer now and less muddled. I really enjoy this kind of remastering.

Another example is track 12 "Termina (Another World)" starting around 0:55, an irish stringed instrument comes into the mix pretty clearly whereas it is muddied in the original release.

Listening to this track using my Hifiman Arya's.
