How can an official album contain 6 minutes of music? Kind ironic is not?

Updated tracktimes, also it seems the back cover has references of tracktimes which are not accurate but still better than the previous 6 minutes.

Shouldn't this not be considered an original soundtrack? Not even an arrangement. 'Inspired by' or something along those lines?

Movie.???

This cd is not about the movie. This cd is actually a kind of Image album with image songs for the characters BASED of the first game. It is wrong to assume this is movie thing, because it is not.

Just because teh famous theme of moratal kombat appear in the movie that does not mean this is from the movie. The theme was re-used a lot in many things of Mortal Kombat stuff.

So yeah I was just replacing 'Movie title (movie)' pattern because of the recent answers about live action movies classification & stuff. 'Mortal Kombat (movie)' was already here, in the represented products field, that info was added some two years ago. Personally I'm not familiar with this album (and not in teh mood to google) so I can't say anything else, but I assume you're right, you know this stuff

*Mortal Kombat: The Album is an album by The Immortals (Maurice Engelen aka Praga Khan and Oliver Adams best known for their work on the Techno/Industrial band Lords of Acid), released in 1994 to accompany the home versions of the video game Mortal Kombat.

Yeah, I own this album, this is filled with music inspired by the game but it doesn't have -any- music from the game, except for Techno Syndrome (which was on the Sega CD version.)

I mean, I never heard this in the arcade game!

Image character songs. That is what it is. Maybe you are not familiar with the japanese making Image songs for characters, be it anime or game.
It does not have to appear in the game, the same way arranged albums are arrange albums and do not appear in the game (there are some exceptions nowadays, like the CAVE games.)

It was released other Mortal Kombat versions in 1994, Amiga and PC. Should that be added as platforms or not. SEGA CD makes more sense since it has the 2 songs from the sega cd has I explained in the singles notes.

I know what image songs are, I just thought they always (or usually) had music FROM the games themselves.

is this the same album of this one on discogs? ISBN is the same so cat. no. should be YARDCD8. Complete scan also are available there on discogs.
Since Techno Syndrome & Hypnotic House are original soundtrack from the Sega CD version, the classification should be Original Soundtrack/Arrangement right?

The CD doesn't have that catalog number, though.

The images in that we have lack the bordering holding that information. Unless you own the cd with the images and are saying yours lacks them.

No no, I mean, the spine on the Discogs back cover scan has that YARDCD catalog number, but the CD scan hosted here and there don't.
