At first I was disappointed with the content but it seems they are going to remaster the music from their original source, so that's actually worth the price for me but I feel that the could have throw something more there, like Mega Man and Bass soundtrack or Battle and Chase.

Hmm, I can't imagine this packaging to be convenient at all. So is this really just a spindle, where you have to remove all discs just to get the last one at the bottom? Or is there some more sophisticated mechanism involved? I really hope so. Square-Enix design decision for the FFXIII-2 limited box was already questionable...

Neat that they seem to be releasing the Complete Works soundtracks too. But yes I would gladly pay a million billion dollars for MM&B on CD.

I wish it had at least the original songs from the game boy games and wily wars

When I saw this I nearly died, the idea of a collection of Megaman music all housed in an "energy tank" is simply brilliant! I think that for those that are looking for all of the 8-bit games in the series, this is the ultimate box! Although I am partial to the "X" games in the series so I was hoping that it included Megaman X7 & X8's OST, those two are sadly out of print and thus extremely expensive. Most importers I have talked to said that if they were able to find it that it would be $100+ for each soundtrack, not cool! Oh well this looks quite nice for fans!

Okay, I'm pissed that Rockman 8 has the Saturn Tracks. They couldn't have included those the first time around? I don't think I can justify that much yen for Tengu Man's alternate theme.

Why release everything when they can ask for money for the missing stuff again?

Say what you will but I think it's nice of them to supply a buyer with a trashcan, right where those CDs belong.

Totally worth getting, just for the awesome PSX tracks.

But what's up with discs 9 and 10? Why would you use an x-box live arcade transfer of the music when those games have official soundtrack releases? Same deal...? Anything to reel people in? |

e-Capcom's page for 4 is 3's right now for the tracklisting.
This is probably nice if you don't already own the Rockman Arrange Version Special CDs. Having the Navi Mode tracks will be nice. And we still have yet to see if it'll be Saturn BGM based for 8, which I'm doubting due to that tracklisting. I don't own 7 or 8 so this is nice for me. 9 and 10 they're just taking from the older releases with nothing new in them. I also think some people are getting their hopes up with different transfers because of what a Japanese page says, or thinking it's "remastered". It would be nice, but I don't think this is the case. The only thing new here are the 4~6 Navi Mode BGM and the 3 Saturn BGMs. |

Anyone notice the omission of the SE tracks? Not a big loss but interesting...

Going by the samples Rockman 7 was re-recorded compared with the previous OST?

If that's true I would more than welcome it - the Rockman 7 OST had quite a few warts on/in it.

Does anyone else feel like the samples for the NES games sound off? Almost sounds like certain channels are higher than normal in the mix. Dunno, maybe I just haven't listened to the original 1~6 release in awhile...

I'm going to go off topic a second and ask this. Is anyone else that's getting this thing a little, I don't know... irritated, puzzled?... that we're more geared up for a soundtrack rather than a game for MM's 25th Anniversary? Don't get me wrong... I'm drooling over this thing as much as the next guy but if Mega Man Legends 3 had not been canceled I'd might have considered that more of a present than this.

I posted on STC something didn't sound right about some of these. Not able to put my finger on why, but I prefer the 1~6 versions. And on MM2, Dr. Wily Stage 1 sample, there is a clear example of clipping right around the :40 mark, which is not present on the 1~6 release. Makes me paranoid about the rest of the music. Basically the lead just cuts out for a split second.

Yeah, that's pretty much how I feel. Plus it'd basically be a double-dip for those of us that have kept up on regular Rockman releases. The only thing I'd be missing are the Perfect Works arranges that aren't on the Power Battle/Fighters CD's (to me, not a huge loss).

What I've noticed:
Rockman 7 is re-recorded, sans free of SE and properly looped (super sweet) and Opening Stage is actually complete this time. Rockman 8 is re-recorded, this fixes the weird ass looping on Frost Man The tracklising errors on the Power Fighters/The Power Battle CDs were not caught... this means Magnet Man (3-28) is actually Cloud Man's Stage. I believe there is another miss-named track or two as well but I haven't run into it. Additionally, track 1-23 sounds NOTHING like Dr. Wily Stage 1 from MM1. Personally I've always believed that's an original composition. Last edited by Brad Evans; Oct 6, 2012 at 02:19 PM. |

Ran into it already. 3-30 Top Man Stage is the opening level theme (mad grinder) from MM7.
Edit: Also, I haven't made it that far but are 9 and 10 just dubs of the original OSTs? Last edited by Brad Evans; Oct 8, 2012 at 12:28 PM. |

Love the SE in Rockman 2's Last Stage... couldn't chop off the beginning of that track?

How's the mixing?

Basically here's what I think:
Rockman 1~6 sound louder and a little clearer than on the 1~6 box, but as was stated above there is some distortion on the Rockman 1 and 2 discs. It's not every track - some get away with no problem - but it's a lot of them. I'd suggest holding onto your 1~6 box if you have one. Rockman 7 is pretty much on par with the sound heard on the Team Entertainment release only, you know, without all the hiccups. Rockman 8 is actually a small step back from the Team Entertainment release which is a little louder and clearer. Still, this version also clears up a few issues as well. Anyways, there are a few problems with the E can but I'm for anything that fixes and makes the Team Entertainment releases obsolete. Last edited by Brad Evans; Oct 9, 2012 at 12:57 PM. |
