I noticed the cover image for this album is, well, not exactly SFW (safe for work). This isn't a moral indictment against nudity or anything, but I was wondering if VGMDB should have a policy for what to do for visual material like this. I am not saying that it shouldn't be posted. However, I think a lot of visitors (such as myself) might like to know before they click if they will be exposed to any kind of nudity or something that could be construed as being meant to be pornographic. I am thinking particularly of users who are Christian (such as myself), Jewish, or Islam, as such users often have values that dictate avoiding anything that has a sexually objectified nature (Although, as I said before, I'm not trying to dictate what kind of stuff is posted-- it would just be nice, I think, if users were clearly informed of such things...).
Of course, being that most VGM comes from Japan, and that Japanese culture places far less restrictions on nudity and sex than Western culture, things like this should be expected. But since VGMDB exists mainly as a resource for visitors outside of Japan perhaps we could give warnings or messages before someone clicks on something with material like this. What does everything else think about this, particularly the admins?-- good idea or a waster of time and resources? |

We already have a policy.
If an image is NSFW, you should set it to "Unsafe." Unsafe images don't show up unless you are logged in, and you have Explicit Images set to Show in your profile. |

You can click on the "gears" button to the top right of the screen (beside the "plus" button) to slide down the preferences panel. Under "Explicit Images", click on "Hide" and you're set.
"Hide" should be the default setting for visitors. |

By this thread - I wonder - where is border between SFW and NSFW?
For me graphic is NSFW if nipples and\or down pars are visible (even if censored), and SFW was rest - where these parts are not visible, no matter how naked character is. |

Nice cover, though the artist did not manage to draw a good face on it.

In many ways, the boundary between SWF & NSWF is probably cultural. For instance, in Saudi Arabia, Iraq and many other middle eastern countries a photo of a lady in dress pants and a button-down shirt would be explicit. However, the same image would probably be SWF in a more liberal middle eastern country like Qatar or Bahrain. and in the USA, Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand, and other countries with a Western European cultural background the photo would be just fine. Of course, if the photo of this lady had her with a couple of top buttons undone it would probably be a problem for people such as myself, because of the change in message something so subtle would be trying to convey.

I was not sure about setting the cover to NSFW or not. In the end, I did not set it to NSFW, because you can basically see some breasts, covered by humble manufactured bikini.
You can see equal stuff in most anime shows at main time. Making such covers NSFW might be a little bit overdone. |

Someone should remove or at least mark the link under Available at as NSFW as it no longer links to the album.
