According to SEMO, this soundtrack was distributed for review purposes only. Does this really qualify it for an entry?

I think it may deepend on some more details on how it was distributed and packaged.

There are plenty of Western soundtracks that are distributed for promotional purposes only. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Section 8, Red Steel 2, etc. These are all physical releases with proper packaging and good presentation, i.e. they could have easily served as commercial releases as well.

That said, in the case of The Forgotten Sands, a soundtrack is being included with some editions of the game and it might be identical to the promotional one.

I think it does not hurt to keep it, as we already have soundtracks like this.
And we can change it to enclosure if the soundtrack is released someday with the game.

It could be nice to have proper scans though as the packaging could be different from a future release.

Ok, thanks for the answers. We'll keep the entry. Scans would definitely be nice.

I'm not sure whether I should scan the albums, since game companies might be sensitive to this, but I can certainly confirm personally when artwork and entries differ. It's usually quite easy to find bigger covers for the albums, given these are put out in official news releases, but everything else might be for reviewers eyes only.

If these are for reviewer's eyes only, and they will never (legally) come up on the secondary market, then should they even be catalogued here? It's a private person-to-person gift from a composer to you, or potentially a prototype of a future release that may see some changes. Every album in the database probably had one or more such prototypes made and distributed to employees and other people behind the scenes for similar purposes.

It's not a gift if it is meant for review and promotional purposes. Likewise, the musical contents of the album are not private if released for these reasons (though they obviously cannot be ripped or sold, as that is illegal). Many of these releases aren't prototypes either and were never intended for stand-alone releases. That said, I don't object to these entries being deleted, as they do complicate things (for example, I've received physical releases of some publicly digital-only albums too). However, you will need to delete quite a few others as well. I think The Forgotten Sands should stay up nonetheless, at least until it's confirmed if the track listings are the same for the limited edition release.

The game have been released and it comes with a Bonus DVD.
You can find an "Exclusive Soundtrack" on it, it contains only 12 tracks for less than 20 minutes of music.

So this CD is different and more complete.
