I'm surprised they focused so heavily on the classics, pretty much ignoring anything that happened more recent in the musical history of the Mana-franchise - but I'm not dissapointed. The first four released games have such classic scores that the stuff that came after that fell rather short anyway.
The arrangements are very straightforward this time around, and while I overall enjoy the "Orchestral SaGa" release much more for example, the positive thing is that each track gets a very generous playing time instead of rushing through lots of tracks in a combined medley within a very short time frame. The arrangements definitely get their time to breath, personally I enjoy especially the performances from "Secret of Mana". So, nothing particulary surprising or inspired, but a nice album all in all. |

So are these arrangements new or are some previously recorded (such as on the Best of Shimomura albums and the original SD1 arrange album)?

- Added English tracklist. All track titles taken from previous Seiken Densetsu releases with iTunes officials except for M11 "心のある場所". Used the existing translation of "Where the Heart Resides".
- Changed Unicode ( and )to ASCII ( and ) to match the formatting on the back of the CD (There's no natural unicode space between 」 and ( on the back of the CD) - Converted all Japanese quotation marks「...」to ASCII quotation marks "..." and Japanese ~ to ~ (spaceTildeSpace) for English formatting. - Fixed typo on M10 Last edited by dancey; Feb 9, 2018 at 03:25 PM. |

- Added the rest of the album info from the inserts
- Converted the Album Info section to M# format and aligned it closer to formatting in the inserts (Mostly just removed the '/' between Composition and Arrangement, used a '/' between multiple listed composers on a medley track, removed the leading tab) fyi the "Track-03, 6, 11" (only single digit track number without a leading 0 is sic from inserts. |

TerraEpon -- I haven't listened yet, possible that something from drammatica or memoria was used, or partially used, in the medleys. Sachiko Miyano and Natsumi Kameoka being present as arrangers for LoM material is troubling on-sight, but I haven't listened quite yet.
The old SD1 orchestral album wasn't used, as the arranger for that album is not credited. FPI -- did you do those scans or find them from another source? If the former, I have to give you MAJOR credits, because those are some immaculately-clean scans. Bravo!! |

ack, this album is worse than the re:birth shit seiken densetsu games are not made for orchestra at least saga orchestra albums are better (even if I think after sagaoke 1, the rest is useless tho) |

This is it. If you've got to chose one CD to discover Yoko Shimomura, Kenji Ito, Hiroki Kikuta's music, this is the one, played by Tokyo Symphony Orchestra.
Greatness awaits your ears!!!! |
