One cd? Lame.

Does this have the "Tron-like" music? I will only buy the cd if that is on there.

Haven't heard the CD yet but I'd assume track 10 The Big Boner is the "Tron-like" music that plays in the video.

TASTE MY BIG BONER!

So, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn isn't currently credited for this album. But she's here, isn't she?

She definitely performs with The Damned on "Shadows of the Damned" (track 21). There were several scenes in the game where I heard her singing so I'm hoping most/all of those songs will appear on this disc since they weren't too easy to hear in-game.

Not going to buy this, at least not from GHM store. I'm not paying 19USD shipping for a 29USD album...

Well, every international copy sold is going to be autographed by Yamaoka, so that will definitely raise the price in the mind of sellers. I guess you could always use Yahoo Japan Auctions or something similar to obtain a version sold domestically, but then you have to take into account middleman services, etc.

Really? Must have missed that. Where did you get this from?

Well, that kind of changes the situation. Have to think about this a bit...

@Mike: Could you give me some details on McGlynns contributions once you have listened to your copy?

So, has anyone's copy of the SotD OST shipped yet? I ordered and paid for my copy almost a week ago (last Friday, September 2nd), and its status is still marked as "Confirmed". I guess they received a lot of orders that they have to work through, but it still feels a bit weird, I thought I was among the first to order it. Ugh, the impatience...

Right now there's only 68 copies left. There might possibly be another batch, though. The first one sold out over the weekend and they put up another 300 or so a few days ago. They're going at a slower pace now, so I guess the market is getting a bit sated. According to the item description, the soundtrack is limited to 1000 copies, and I guess this includes both those sold within Japan and the ones sold internationally?

My own personal theory is this: they underestimated the demand from fans overseas, and they're shipping so slow because they have to wait for Yamaoka to sign every copy. Hope his arm doesn't fall off or anything.

They also mentioned that their shipping department is very small in a Twitter post and things should start shipping this Friday. I presume, of course, the earlier order numbers will be shipped first.

Since we seem to be relying on Twitter for basically all the info in this thread, I thought I'd post this. Picture of 320 copies of the soundtrack, all signed, posted to Twitter by Yamaoka himself. Really digging that purple cover, it'll definitely stand out in my collection.

I don't care for signatures. I don't want anything to obscure the cover.

You guys should listen to Mlada Fronta's Fe2O3 album if you liked this.

Got my copy yesterday (Monday). Funny, they did ship them out last Friday, but the shipping confirmation e-mail wasn't sent until Monday. This is the first time I got a CD the very same day that I got the shipping confirmation for it.

Also, the information on the back cover lists the official release date of the soundtrack as September 1st, not September 2nd. Edited the album info to reflect that.

I ordered this on the 9th and I still haven't received my copy or even a shipping confirmation email. What gives?

I only got mine today, and I ordered back on the 4th. Just be patient, I suppose. It is frustrating, though.

From what I gathered, they have a very small shipping department and lots of orders to fill. I think that's the biggest cause of the delay.

I got my shipping confirmation on 27th of September and received the album today. So at least the shipping itself was fast.

Yea, I received the album today. The bag it comes with is the sweetest looking bag I've seen.

The music that I wanted to listen to is not on the soundtrack. What a fucking joke. Why the hell could they not put it in there? It is far better than the idiotic choice of an intro track or the 1 minute "heaven or hell" song. It's better than most the tracks on here -- certainly far better than the track they have titled as "The Big Boner". I paid $40 and waited a month for a wildly incomplete soundtrack that tops in at 60 minutes. This is not gonna slide.

Looks like I am going to have to write an angry letter to Grasshopper.

edit:

With all that out the way, the album is fairly good. In the booklet it says they didn't just "throw a bunch of tracks together" and they are right: the album has great flow. The only bad track is "The Big Boner" which just sounds ugly to the ears. There is a very eery feel to the album; it seems more like a ghost town soundtrack than a Hell soundtrack. The exclusion of the tracks I wanted (the big boner turret music, the weird funky music that plays with the light slug, the difficulty select guitar music, the creepy ambient towards the end of the game) is unnacceptable.

Very good soundtrack that is worthy of being owned.
