Same as Starhawk, updated the info, source is again Lala land's press release (from their facebook-page):

SORCERY
MUSIC BY MARK MANCINA
LLLCD 1213
LIMITED EDITION OF 3000 UNITS
Retail Price: $19.98

PRODUCED BY KEITH LEARY AND PETE SCATURRO
MIXED AND EDITED BY BY DAN MONTI
ART DIRECTION BY DAN GOLDWASSER

Composer Mark Mancina’s latest opus for the video game SORCERY can best be described as if MOLL FLANDERS married TWISTER – a beautiful Celtic tinged score at times with an underlying pulse pounding adventure score at its heart. Its 60 minutes of some of the best music we have ever released. 12 page booklet by Dan Goldwasser shows off the games behind the scenes artwork while composer Mancina and score producer Scaturro shed some insight on the game and the music that was created for it.

Does "Limited Edition" really need to be in the album's title?

Well, as per definition from this website: "Albums that are just limited to a set number of copies are not considered Limited Edition."

In which case, the answer to your question is no.
None of La-La Land's releases fit the definition of what is a Limited Edition here. I've seen this on a lot of western label's releases and I'm not sure who adds this "Limited Edition"-info bit, but I agree with you... this info should be removed from the title.

Personally I never really bothered to do that. If I remember correctly I tried that once only to realise that someone re-added it later again.
