Perhaps this will be the turning point in getting more Nintendo soundtracks in the future? Their recent work in producing the Jump Up, Super Star song and video and its successful commercial release perhaps finally convinced Nintendo to do more soundtrack related activities.

Sure, but they weren't making promotional music videos or using iTunes and other digital music platforms in the past either.

We saw signs of change with Splatoon and Fire Emblem, but nobody could have imagined that Nintendo would ever give up their flagship title.

The fact that Nintendo is willing to cooperate now is huge. If Mario is no longer off-limits, then the sky's the limit.

There's no doubt that Nintendo is changing as a company overall and, in general, are willing to bend on business practices they were once utterly rigid on.
On the music front this is great to see and, while I don't expect them to ever become a Square Enix, it's a move that highlights a shifting approach.

Now for Xenoblade 2...

Definitely gonna get this. Great to see that Nintendo's opening up to commercial OST releases. Hopefully they see how well this kind of business does. I'd love if the Zelda series gets the same treatment (though I'd hate to be the guy to go through all 200-300 tracks on the Breath of the Wild OST).

Hopefully this means good things for the future.

Xenoblade 2 OST when

God, I just want the Story Trailer music of BOTW, clean. I don't mind if it's in iTunes, but I need that.

Now that they have wrapped up the DLC of BotW and ARMS, we may eventually be seeing commercial soundtrack releases of both as well. For Skyward Sword they may be waiting for an eventual remake / HD port, like with Twilight Princess HD.

This album is also available for pre-order at Amazon Japan. I just put in an order to make an effort to keep up with the explosion of Mana/Seiken albums, and this popped up in the recommendations. It's expensive, damn near expensive as the game, but it will be nice to have this, as I've put a lot of time in this game.

Potentially, if they even plan on doing that. I'd love a Skyward Sword remake personally, though I don't see them doing that for a while. Although the Switch's Joycons could work with motion controls. Personally would prefer to see a remake where motion controls are only an option rather than a necessity, but I wouldn't mind either way. I still have my Skyward Sword-themed Wii remote from way back when I preordered the game.

I suspect ARMS will get an OST release, since the game gives similar vibes to Splatoon for me. Also Eliana's vocals on the main theme are really great.

BotW will be interesting if a full OST release ends up happening. There are playlists with around 120 tracks in them on YouTube, though a lot of songs seem to be variations of each other so it's possible that they may all be included on one track.

Xenoblade 2 OST waiting room.

Odyssey's OST is so expensive. It'll probably be worth the money though.

I'm not a huge fan of trying to translate something early, especially something like this that could very well have either English titles somewhere in the inserts or could get an official localization sometime in the future. I just know how quickly and easily it will spread from a single source, correct or not, and then we end up with bad tags and circular re-edits for infinite .

Here is a first pass. Keep in mind I have not played the game so a lot of these localization just came from www.mariowiki.com (which is incomplete for Mario Odyssey). I'm not sure if there's a Sound Test or Jukebox in game but there is this (https://www.mariowiki.com/List_of_Mu...ther_languages)

Keep in mind that the in-game music player uses stage names (which may be different from the track title).

For example, "Break Free (Lead The Way)" is "Honeylune Ridge: Escape" in the music player.

Japanese buyers have started receiving their copies. Credits have started to appear on the game music wiki: https://www21.atwiki.jp/gamemusicbes...ages/6721.html

Of note, Kondo also composed the music for Lost Kingdom. And no music by Yokota.

Apparently this also confirms that Naoto Kubo composed the SMB Airship theme on Super Mario Maker, since all other arrangements from previous Mario titles are credited to Kondo as well.

Explains why I didn't like the music as much as the Galaxies and 3D World.

So why do we have two different English tracklists for this OST? I understand the general practice of having a localized tracklist and then a literal translation tracklist. Is that what's happening here? Because a "North American" version tracklist should be the same as a "localized" version. Unless the localized version is actually a PAL version with PAL nomenclature? Anyway, I'm a little confused on the reasoning for two English tracklists here.

This is what happens when people add/edit without sourcing or making a comment. I don't know where they are from. They are not from the in game music list (of which there's only 82 tracks) and they aren't using the Japanese tracklist as a base, or my original pass at a loose translation/localization (which I intentionally did not add as an English tracklist)

I had thought it would be something like that. With that being the case, I think the two English tracklists should be merged (I would do it myself, but I don't think I can?). The titles for the tracks that are on the in-game Music List should be used where applicable, and a decently translated/localized track title used for those not in the in-game list.

I don't disagree but I think we should wait until either JTurner or breath20kfire can justify their additions. Barring that, my physical copy should be here in a at most a week and people should be getting theirs in the next couple days, so we can wait for scans, too. I doubt there's anything in there and I don't think that's where these adds/edits came from because those previous adds/edits were made in the beginning of February before the physical album existed.

My guess it's just some amalgamation of a localization gone horribly wrong. Localizing names and locations is fine but removing strict formatting stuff and then not even using the actual localization that exists (it doesn't look like it's even trying to use the Music List titles)...

Per a comment from Illidan, I removed the two existing "tracklists" (airquotes intentional) and replaced them with mine above. That's not to say that mine is 100% accurate (proof checking is always welcome) but it's a far better representation than whatever those previous two were. I did change all references of "Koopa" in mine to "Bowser".

Here are the two tracklists I deleted, in case someone needs to reference them (ugh):

What dancey said is true about these tracklists. I know that in track 7 of disc 2, the song is called YOU GOT A GRAND MOON! In the North American version of the game, it's called YOU GOT A MULTI MOON! So, I suggest we use the game's Music List from the North American version.
