This says it was arranged by Hidenori Iwasaki and gives original composers... but it says Original Soundtrack. Is it not an arrangement? I don't have it but the track lengths also look different from the same songs on FRONT MISSION 4 plus 1st ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK.

Never played or heard any Front Mission so far, but in general, if a game's soundtrack is based on arranged tracks taken from other games, the classification we'd select is "Original Soundtrack" (example: Dissidia).

I think it is a selection from the original soundtrack to the PSX remake of the first Front Mission. Iwasaki did the work of converting the SNES pieces into PSX synth.

Oh, I see, that explains the arrangement credit. Thanks.

Cedille, Front Mission 5 is very good. Everything before it is pretty mediocre - not bad at all but also not really great. But I really do like Front Mission 5's music.

Right, it's the OST to the PSX remake, literally called Front Mission 1st. It includes an extra story mode for which Iwasaki did music.

Actually, I'm fond of most of the early Front Mission scores for different reasons. FMA is a bit of a dud, but the rest are interesting. Especially FM2 and FM3. FM5 is more of a Zimmer emulation and, while quite accomplished, could be more original.

I felt 4 was the worst in terms of Zimmer emulation, actually. It has moments ripped right out of Gladiator. My personal favorites are 2 and 3 as well.

Assuming the scans here are incomplete, it would be appreciated if anyone who owns this album could verify that track 8 is in fact credited to Hidenori Iwasaki somewhere in the packaging.
