Before adding more Ghibli albums over the weekend, I want to discuss a couple things to keep my submissions consistent with others.

a) Wasn't this anime released as "Castle in the Sky" in the US?

b) Also, are we going to use the Western titles (My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service) as the display titles for those particular anime albums, while romanized ones are what we've generally used for the display title of VG soundtracks? I wouldn't mind it, if the anime fanbase supports a different policy than we have on VGM submissions.

I would imagine the decision for leaving out 'Laputa' for the US release had a lot to do with its "problematic" meaning in Spanish. I think it was typically released as Laputa: Castle in the Sky in English speaking territories, and it's the English title most people seem to use.

I think these films are famous and popular enough in English speaking territories for us to use the English title as the display, even if they are not always literal translations.

Wow. I really didn't know this story. So it appears the English version was initially released as Laputa: Castle in the Sky.

I'm fine with it (although I'm not terribly aware what anime is titled differently and popular among Western fans).
