This is an impressive CD. Melodic synth stuff with comedic elements, but the sound is very rich and full and the pieces are self-contained (no fades, they have "true" endings). I am curious if this is the redbook straight from the game. The audio quality doesn't seem as compressed as PC Engine CD's tend to be.

I haven't listened to this album for a decade, but I remember it reminded me of Ys IV.

The synths definitely do. Not as much guitar, much more lighthearted, but yeah, definitely has that vibe to it. I could picture it as a pseudo-cousin to Popful Mail's music (better, IMO).
This is up there as one of my better impulse purchases. I wasn't expecting much after trudging through the anime. |
