Bill Brown has confirmed on his website that he composed the startup and shutdown sounds and the Tour music, and also created the system sounds with Tom Ozanich. Some system sounds are reused from older versions of Windows, created by Bill Wolford and Maz & Kilgore. The OOBE music, composed by Stan LePard and known as "Windows Welcome music" or "Velkommen", is reused from Internet Explorer Starter Kit V3.0.
