Introduction page by Jun Masami, who belonged to the Mushi Production (president's office at the time).

This albums is not a soundtrack, but was composed independently in line with the purpose of creating an appreciation piece for children. "Jungle Emperor'' was selected as a subject that was easy to understand for children at the time of production, and was turned into a symphonic poem. Based on the curriculum guidelines of the Ministry of Education (at the time), it was designed to help elementary school students learn musical instruments, and includes a narration that describes the instruments used by the symphony orchestra in the opening song. In addition to the introduction, each song also explains the main instrument in the liner notes.

This LP album, recorded in stereo high-fidelity, is based on the story and music of the first episode of Japan's first weekly 30-minute color TV program "Jungle Emperor" by Mushi Production, which began airing in 1965. It was completed as a symphonic poem performed by an orchestra (with some sound effects and sound editing).

The illustration on the LP jacket is by Osamu Tezuka. The LP record version included a thin picture book-style booklet in which Tezuka himself drew watercolors of the story and scenes expressed by the music for this album but this was omitted from the CD version.
