"Referenced" option for anime/tokusatsu/live action song covers

I wanted to open a discussion about the "referenced" option for anime/tokusatsu/live action song covers.

Does it option apply to them in all circumstances, including covers from the 1960s?
We know that it tend to be tricky, because at that time:

• They can be different arrangements by another arranger (so not the same one as the original)
• It can be a different arrangement from the same arranger, and re-recorded with new artists (vocalists)
• It can be the same arrangement, from the same arranger, as the original sound source, but it has been re-recorded with new vocalists

To me, if it's automatically a new arrangement (by the same arranger or not), and if it's known to not be the original sound source (so not the same vocalists or arrangement), then it's a cover song.

For an example, with https://vgmdb.net/album/75454 (SCS-33):
if an album or single does have an original song for the content, but at the same time a cover song (of whatever theme it is, OP/ED/IN/IM...), then not all the artists are obviously not "referenced", especially if the composer is the same as the arranger.

I know it cannot be easier as some cover songs (especially at that time) are only new recordings, with the same arrangement (and accompaniment/orchestra) but with new vocalists: see the case for "Attack No.1" where the original song (https://vgmdb.net/album/92122, by Kumiko Osugi) was released on many different labels, but only the Victor label version (https://vgmdb.net/album/92135, sung by Kurumi Kobato) is a cover... with the same arrangement.
In that case, I tend to leave it as it is.

Another case with a recent album I submitted, https://vgmdb.net/album/144502 (SKM(H)-2228):
all the lyricists/composers have been put in referenced because there are all cover songs and have not been used in the original content.
These credits can apply to many other albums on DB and for many labels that have released albums/singles that contains mostly (or partially) cover songs, such as CBS/Sony, CANYON, PONY, King Records, Victor, or even Columbia ones during the 1970s and the 1980s.

Would like to have opinions on this, to see if it can apply to some releases on the DB in the end.
