While technically a reprint of the original 2003 release I haven chosen this one because of the inclusion of the new vocal theme ("celestial ark")

As I stated in Atelier Marie Remake's thread, you can clearly see how different some official translations are, if you compare this recent sound test and the digital iTunes release.

It turns out that you were correct. I took a look at through the Atelier Viorate website and it lists the area names in both Japanese and German.

カロッテ村 → Karotte (German for "Carrot")
ファスビンダー → Fassbinder (German for "Cooper")
ハーフェン → Hafen (German for "Harbor")
ホーニヒドルフ → Honigdolf ("Honig" in German for "Honey" and "Dolf" is German for "Wolf," so together that would make it "Honey Wolf.")
妖精の森（村）→ Elvenwald (German for "Elven Forest," but I believe it would actually be spelled "Elbenwald" in German.)

I'm aware that a lot of JRPGS, especially the Atelier ones, feature German names (apparently, because it sounds "cool" to Japanese people lol), but I wasn't aware of this text from Viorate. Well, I never played it in the first place as it's not localized.

These are all correct, except "Honigdolf" - in German there does not exist a word called "Dolf". Dolf is a male first name, or the short version of "Adolf" (pretty rare tho). Maybe they wanted to spell the word "Dorf" instead (German word for "Village")? Idk the context of the track, but "Honigdorf" would be "Honey Village" in English. Does this make sense? Wolf is the same name as in English.

And with Elvenwald I think they mean "Elfenwald", they just mispelled it. Elfen = Elves

Based on what I could find online "dolf/dolph" is allegedly derived from the Old German word "dulf" which means "wolf." Thus, "Adolf" would mean "noble wolf," "Randolph" would mean "shield wolf" and "Rudolph" would mean "fame/glory wolf," etc. However, based on your response and how you're a native speaker it would appear that I was either mislead or that I misunderstood something while looking into it. Regardless, Ls and Rs frequently get mixed up when translating from Japanese, so I think that you're right about it being a misspelling of "Honigdorf." Especially since "Honey Village" would match how "Karotte Village" means "Carrot Village." Although, that does make me wonder, if the game had been officially localized would they have called it "Honigdorf" or "Honig Village?" Because it would be kind of weird to have both "Honigdorf" and "Karotte Village" when "dorf" and "village" mean the exact same thing.

According to the internet, "Elfen" can apparently also be read as "fairy" which would make more sense than "elves" in context, so I think that you're also correct about this one being a misspelling of "Elfenwald."

Anyway, here's a list of all the areas featured on the website that included German names and their descriptions. We've already covered everything from Villages and Towns, but for World we have "Kanalland," "Turkis" and "Westlich-Nabel." I think "Kanalland' would simply mean "Channel (Canal?) Land," "Turkis" ("Türkis") means "Turquoise" and "Westlich-Nabel" appears to mean "West/Western Navel?"

村と街 / Villages and Towns

カロッテ村 / Karotte
カナーラント王国の北東部に位置する農村。農業が主産業でニンジンが特産物だが数が多いだけで高級品ではな い。土地も広いが畑しかないので居住区域は村の中心部しかない。田舎で何もないが、その分自然が豊かで空気 や水もきれいで静養に訪れる旅人などをよく見かける。
このカロッテ村周辺の土は良質でレンガや陶磁器に向いていると言われているが、村にはその加工をする技術が 無い。
過疎化問題で人離れが進んでおり、深刻にとらえた村長のオイゲンは村おこしをすることを決意している。もし 村おこしによって人がやってくるようになれば有り余る土地を武器に村ではなくちゃんとした城壁のある城塞都 市にまで出来るのではないか、と夢見ている。

ファスビンダー / Fassbinder
王国北部の丘陵地帯にある小さな城塞都市。しかしこの街はその規模に反して抜群の知名度を誇っている。それ は、この街の入り口に設置されている巨大な酒樽「クラリッサ」。王国一の大きさを誇るその巨体には王国中の 人間が集まっても飲み干すのに１年以上かかるほどのワインが入ると言われている。
クラリッサはかつてファスビンダーの街を作った初代市長が大のワイン好きだったことから寄贈されたもので、 中には当時からずっと寝かされているワインが入っている。街の住人だけでなく誰でも自由にくみ出して飲んで も良いとされているが、古いワインなので少々カビくさい。収穫祭のあと、余ったワインが毎年足されている。
ファスビンダーはワインの生産地としても知られていて、毎年新年になると豊作祈願の祭りが行われている。街 中、ワインと樽で溢れている街である。観光客も多い。

ハーフェン / Hafen
カナーラント王国の首都。王国のほぼ中心に位置する王国最大の城塞都市で人口はおよそ２万人。街のすぐ北に あるクロアル湖とそこから延びるヴィスコー川に街の北、西、南の三方を囲まれており遠くから見ると水上に街 が浮かんでいるように見える。
運河の国と呼ばれている中でも特に海運業の盛んな街で、街では川から街の中に運河を引いていて小舟がひっき りなしに荷物の運搬をしている。またクロアル湖には、王国の海岸部の街や諸外国などに商品を輸送するための 大型帆船が何隻もある。帆船が通過するということもあり、ヴィスコー川には橋が１つもないのが特徴。そのた め対岸に行くためには渡し船を使うか、クロアル湖の北を大きく迂回するしかない。
その地形条件から物品の流通が盛んで、常に景気がよく、諸外国の珍しい品物で溢れている。王国は地理的に諸 外国との紛争があまりなく平和で、そんな中、武器を取り扱う店があるのも王国の中でもこの街だけである。

ホーニヒドルフ / Honigdolf
王国西部、ゾラ山脈のふもとにある小さな村。人口はほんの数百人程度。養蜂が盛んなこの街は、王国トップク ラスの蜂蜜生産で知られている。生産量こそ小さな村なのでそれほど多くないが、毎年品評会で必ず何らかの賞 を取る優秀な品質の蜂蜜を生産しているということで蜂蜜の代名詞的存在の村である。各種蜂蜜を製造販売して いるが、その中でもキュクロスバチという珍しい大型のハチ（非常に攻撃的！）の巣から採れる蜂蜜は一級品で 、そのハチがいるのはこのホーニヒドルフだけである。ホーニヒドルフではこの蜂の巣を守るため、そしてキュ クロスバチから村人を守るために蜂の巣のある大きなケヤキの木の周囲をぐるりと網で囲って、入り口には常に 門番を立てている。頼めば有料で蜂蜜採取をさせてくれるが、採取は命がけである。
森深いゾラ山脈の側で蜂蜜を作っているためこの街の周囲では蜂蜜の匂いに誘われたクマがよく出没し、毎年ク マに襲われてケガをする人が出る。村では周囲に柵をめぐらせクマが入ってこないようにしているがそれでもク マ被害に頭を悩ませている。

妖精の森（村） / Elvenwald
カロッテ村の西にある小さな森。昔から妖精が住んでいると言われていて、運がいいと妖精に出会えるという言 い伝えがある。
しかし実際は、下手に森に迷い込むとどういうわけか見当違いの方向から出てしまったり、あるいは永遠に森か ら出られなくなるなど危険な森である。森全体に何か不思議な力が満ちているとも言われている。
森の奥では妖精さんの一族が、巨大な一本の木のふもとでささやかな生活をしている。妖精さんは人里にやって きて仕事を手伝うのを生業とするのが常だが、ここの妖精の森は長老が用事で出かけている（帰ってくるのは数 十年後らしい）ために勝手な行動をすることが出来ず、誰も手伝ってくれない。全員、畑仕事や家畜の世話、魚 釣りなど自分たちの生活が出来る最低限のことをして暮らしている。

冒険の舞台 / World

カナーラント王国（ワールドマップ） / Kanalland
周囲の大半を海に囲まれた、小さな半島型の王国。半島の付け根となる王国西側には山脈がそびえ、その向こう 側は王国よりも全体的に高台になっている。
半島内にはクラオト川（kraut）、ヴィスコー川（wis-koh）の２本の大河があり、そのうちヴィスコー川の上流には首都ハーフェンがある。王国全体が低地で川が 多く、それらを利用した運河があちこちに造られ「運河の国」と呼ばれている。
海に囲まれているため海運業が盛んで、他国との交流も多い。運河が発展した代わりに道路網は未開発で、運河 のある街や海沿いの街は大きく発展しているが反面内陸部はその交通の便の悪さのため小さな村ばかりである。

テュルキス洞窟 / Turkis
ゾラ山脈の中腹にある古い大洞窟。入り口は岩壁だが奥の方は鍾乳洞になっていて中はかなり広い。遙かな昔、 そこに住んでいた先住民たちが残したという壁画があり学者が調べたがっているが、しかし現在は先住民の代わ りにカナーラント王国最大の盗賊団『ヤグアール』のねぐらになっている。
盗賊団はそれぞれ異なるいくつかの集団で構成されていて、各集団はさらに階級ごとに役割が決まっているとい う組織的なグループになっている。王国の治安部隊である竜騎士（ドラグーン）隊と常に衝突している。
最近、この盗賊団に強力な用心棒が現れたという情報が竜騎士隊の中で流れている。

ヴェストリヒナーベル / Westlich-Nabel
王国西部の「へそ」と呼ばれる縦穴洞窟。巨大な逆三角錐の巨石の中は迷路のようになっている。自然の造りだ した偶然の産物なのか、人為的なものなのかは誰も知らない。迷路は大地の底までつながっていると言われてい るが誰も最下層まで行ったことがない。
入り口周辺にも怪物の姿が見られるくらい怪物の巣窟になっていて、基本的に女子供は付近へ立ち入るようなこ とはしない。鉱物資源が採れることもあって採取に来る労働者たちはそこそこいるが、それでも地表付近でのみ の活動にとどまっている。
この洞窟は太古の昔から存在しているらしく、かなり岩盤が脆くなっていて近いうちに崩壊するのでは、とも言 われている。王宮に住む王室関係者などの中には「いっそのこと人為的に破壊して怪物もろとも埋めてしまおう 」という意見も出ているが、現時点では資源が採れなくなってしまうことを懸念する穏健派に押さえられている らしい。

You may be correct here, but I'm not sure as I never heard dolf/dolph connected to wolf. I'm not too familiar with the old language, but I know that "Ulfr" from the Old Norse translates into wolf, too.

That's correct! Also, I noticed in the opening video, they misspelled "Halbißel" - it should be "Halbinsel", which means peninsula in English. Also, the grammar is a bit off. And like I said, the name "Karotte" (Carrot) is literally mentioned / shown in the opening.
