Hi all,
Given no official English tracklist exists (at least not thus far), I attempted to translate this one. Unfortunately, it was exceedingly difficult. Typically, I am able to rely on cross-referencing: comparing the Japanese song titles to characters, locations, etc in the game. But whoever handled track titles decided to go for a more ... poetic route. I'm fairly confident in some of the easier translations (ex. 3-01 ヴィランの思惑 = Villain's Plan). But if someone with a stronger grasp of the language could take a look at a few in particular, there are some I am simply confounded by. First, disc 3 tracks 9 thru 14. There are these patterned naming conventions, and I can't see how they fit together. And ... how "Kage" (shadow / silhouette) is paired against Miyako (city, etc) for three of the tracks, and then paired against Hofu (..."slaughter?" which when combined with Kage miiiight mean "Butcher"?) for others. I thought this may be reference to some esoteric phrasing. I cannot find examples of it anywhere on the Internet, save for references to this very tracklist! There are also five "Ame" / Rain (雨) tracks. Some seemed simple enough to me ... Red/Crimson Rain for 紅雨. But then there are tracks like "叢雨" where common translations include "Passing Shower," a rain that starts and stops relatively quickly. And theeeen there's 3.20, "魄飛雨." And at this point I don't even know if these should be rendered into a translation, or a transliteration ... and if so, in Japanese or Chinese? For some of these rain titles, there were references to specific days of the year where rainfall is associated with some particular meaning. And, again, I cannot find any context clues based on the game itself. Infuriating! Finally, if someone could take a look at 4.12, 逢魔が時 ("Oumagatoki"). It refers to Twilight, but it's not the same as the typical term "Tasogare" for twilight/dusk. The literal translation suggests something like "the devil's hour," where the boundaries of day and night blur and demons can be released into the world. So it's like a ... dark twilight? I'm thinking Castlevania II's "horrible night for a curse" kinda thing? In the context of the game, I think that's what the song is for (something akin to the "Blood Moon" mob reset in Zelda: TotK). Okay. Those are all my notes. Anyone who's able and willing to spruce up whatever they can, I greatly appreciate it! |

魄飛雨 (hakuhiame) is a boss theme
perso, I'd say 4.16 Serein -> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serein_(meteorology) Last edited by Phonograph; Apr 16, 2025 at 01:10 AM. |

I knew Hakuhiame was the boss theme for Corleonis. I was looking for some etymological connection between "魄飛雨" and "Corleonis" (which the Japanese game just writes out in Katakana). I don't think there is one. Do you think there's a way to translate this, or best to leave transliterated in Romaji? As for 4.16, I think you're spot on. This is a term I have never heard before but I think this is exactly it. I have to wonder if there are other specific "types" of rain with specific terms (cultural, meteorological) in French or other languages that might align better. For example, 3.18 "翠雨" ("Suiu") meaning "rain falling on leaves." Breaking up the Kanji to "Midori" and "Ame," I can see "Green Rain." So it's like ... okay, I get the concept. Is there a good word *for this* in English or other languages? Or best to just go with "Suiu"? So challenging! |

There's a sound test within the game? Ohhh, that would be mighty helpful!
If you would be willing to take screenshots I'd definitely appreciate it! |

Okay, I got sound test up. Unless it's of use to anyone else, I'm fine deleting my "unofficial" English tracklist.
