I spoke to Junya Nakano about his work on Martial Champion and the elusive co-composer, Keiji Sugisawa. He provided a breakdown on who composed what, which I added to the notes of
KICA-7620~1.
This is what he said regarding Sugisawa:
Quote:
He joined KONAMI right after graduating from university as a newcomer. We immediately worked on Martial Champion together, but the work at KONAMI seemed to be very demanding and took a heavy toll on him mentally. He left the company shortly after the development was completed.
In fact, his pen name became Deep Sleep Sugisawa because he would often get mentally exhausted and fall asleep during work hours.
He was originally involved in band activities in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. After leaving KONAMI, it seems he took up a different job and continued his band activities as a hobby. He no longer has any contact with people associated with Konami. I believe he is likely living in Fukuoka Prefecture, but no one knows the details of what he is doing now.

Pretty sad honestly, judging by the tracks he did for Martial Champion I feel he had a lot of potential as a composer.
