The booklet doesn't seem to credit the vocalists, so I don't know who did Jika Net Tanaka. It's male, could be Lotus Juice too.

Also, the entry previously credited Yosuke Uda with guitar on track 1.27, but that's not in the scans either. There also isn't actually any guitar in that track.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/932312/49557

This Soundtrack FAQ lists two additional tracks on disc 2:
"Burn My Dread -Long Version-" and "P3_heaven's Remix"

Anyone know what this is all about?

The game had a preorder bonus CD. It included a bunch of wallpapers and these two tracks as mp3. Somebody released the ost and added the two tracks, and I guess some people didn't realize these weren't part of the ost.

I don't remember if I've ever said somewhere liner notes were saying it was "tamashii no uta" and not "... no shi"

edit: ah yeah, for p3p voice mix, apparently I spoke in the wind (I'm used to)

'Memories of the City' is such a sad track. I need to get this ost.

How many tracks from the game did not make it to the ost? I am disappointed one particular beach tune is no present.

Haven't really played through the game all that much, but could the beach tune you speak of be on this album?

http://vgmdb.net/album/15387

(Not sure if the beach is only in the portable version or not...)

EDIT: A quick search on Youtube showing a beach scene seems to suggest the music is "Deep Breath Deep Breath." Is there another tune that plays there as well?

The tune that plays on the beach is indeed "Deep Breath Deep Breath".

It's first played on the first shadow boss fight, during the train segment, btw.

IIRC there is missing beat variation of "Memories of the School" but it wasn't super exciting or anything. Nothing else should be missing.

(now, this is missing the main battle theme and other stuff from here, what the hell Atlus)

I'm remembering an upbeat happier track (an instrumental) I left on loop playing on the PS2 game. I guess I'm misrecalling things -- Could there really have been a time where I was keen on looping 'Deep Breath Deep Breath'? ugh

I'm having difficulty find a source for that as well, but it looks like some people from 2ch in 2006 were talking about him as the vocalist, he's also part of Atlus' debug crew, so I don't think it's a stretch to credit him. Especially because Hashino did the lyrics, whom usually isn't a part of the sound team.

Apologies for the late reply. I actually got it from the Megaten wiki. When I saw the entry for the Persona 3 OST, I thought that someone had forgotten to translate some text, that's why I added him on the notes. If the source is not reliable enough, my apologies.

I also remember reading he was a programmer on SMT Nocturne or something.

For some reason my pressing has differently colored discs and I wonder why.

More info here.

Pretty sure the first press of the OST has full colour on the disc art, whereas all subsequent prints just have monochrome art.

That'd explain it. Is it relevant to add scans for these discs here?

I think it would be good to have them scanned. I'm not sure how VGMDB handles labeling the images, but maybe just use something like "Disc 1 (First-Press Label)"? A moderator will edit it later if necessary.

I guess it would be worthwhile to add them, just be sure to edit the first press release as such in the name as opposed to just "disc 1".

Alright, renamed "Case Interior" as "Discs (First print)" and added the monochrome discs as "Disc 1" and "Disc 2". Tell me if anything's wrong

The digital album cover is not official, but rather a recreation by u/TheRacerMaster on Reddit.

Where do the full Atlus U.S.A. translations for Persona 3 and 4 come from exactly? Were they from previous digital releases that are no longer available?

As far as can remember, I don't think that P3, FES or P3P had any sort of in-game music player. I forgot that P4G had one though, has anyone doubled checked it to make sure that all the titles listed in SVWC-7566~7 & SVWC-7859 match?

In other news, I was comparing the translations with those used in Reload and noticed that there were a few differences. Though keep in mind that these comparisons are made under the assumption that the localized tracklist listed for P3 was taken from an official source.

1.11 "Tranquility" was changed to "Peace" in Reload.

1.12 "When the Moon Reaches for the Stars" was changed to "When The Moon's Reaching Out Stars" in Reload. The latter is the original Japanese title and is also one of the lyrics in the song itself, but as a title it does come across as rather Engrish-ey.

1.15, 1.22, 1.29, 2.06, 2.10, 2.17: Reload uses the original filename titles for the Tartarus themes (ex. "tartarus_0d01") unlike the older localization which apparently updated them to something more conventional (ex. "Theme of Tartarus (1st Block.)"

1.23 'An Unpleasant Premonition" was changed to "Bad Feeling" in Reload.

2.04 "It's Alright..." was changed to "This is How It Should Be..." in Reload. This track is used prior to a certain character's death, the original text and translation are identical to the first words in their final speech, but it appears that in Reload they chose to rename the title after their final words instead, presumably because they felt it was more impactful.

2.15 "Memories of School" was changed to "Memories of the School" in Reload.

2.16 "Living With Determination -Iwatodai Dorm Arrange-" was changed to "Living With Determination -Iwatodai Dorm Arrangement-" in Reload.

2.18 "That Which Comes from the Darkness" was changed to "What Lies in the Darkness" in Reload. The latter is slightly more concise, but I think the former is a bit more faithful to the original text.

2.24 "Because I Will Protect You" was changed to "I Will Protect You" in Reload. Basically the same thing, they just removed "Because." For the record, it should be noted that neither exact phrase is used in the final animated cutscene where this track is heard, at least not in the English dubs.

the "official" translation for the P3 tracks may have come from the iam8bit vinyl pressings. I know those tracklists supersede even the in game sound test, from a previous discussion had in one of the persona4 albums.

It looks like you're right, the iam8bit vinyl translations do match those used on Reload's digital release, but why is it that iam8bit translations specifically apparently supersede others?
