The pictured disc has a game demo on it, so I wonder if the soundtrack is on the disc in mp3 format. That raises another question though, are we just talking about what is essentially a game rip then?

We already have many discs like this.. and there will be certainly even more.. future will be full of "Bonus DVD" with the soundtrack in mp3 or lossless files, along with other content (artworks, videos..)

We already have Anno 1404, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, Neverwinter Nights 2, Typrop, Prince Of Persia, Tomb Raider: Anniversary .. and probably more i don't remember now.

Sorry about the confusion. Let me explain:

Yes, there are MP3 files along with other content on the DVD. However, I played this DVD on an old DVD player that does not support MP3 and the soundtrack still played.

To make sure, I made an ISO image of the DVD, opened it in PowerISO and deleted the MP3's. Placed it back in both the DVD player and my PC and the soundtrack still plays.

So I'm assuming these files are also digital tracks on the DVD, maybe like Anno 1701 AD and Rise of Nations (though possibly not in surround. I have no way of checking that).

Obviously I am new here and I don't want to make any unnecessary work for the admins, nor post misleading information, so if I'm doing something wrong in the descriptions (or anything else) please let me know. I will be happy to comply with any rules.

Great site!

Oh, in that case the media should be DVD, I'll fix it.

By the way, isn't this from the pre-sell demo:
http://www.amazon.com/Empire-Earth-P.../dp/B0008F6E3O

Amazon says the release date is Feb 15 rather than Apr 26. I don't think they'd bundle a demo with the full release of the game, anyway...

Actually you're right, it's a preorder bonus for the actual game release itself.
