This was previously released as a free download by the composers, it still can be downloaded from their website. GOG added embedded album art (which ballooned the size of the package), randomly converted letters from uppercase to lowercase, and renamed the last track from "Act_C1 - new version" to just "New Version".

The package includes a .NFO file, with important info relevant to the album, including accurate composer credits. Good enough for a new entry in the database, or should we just copy some of that information and use it in the current entry?

...

Didn't I add the original release of this album years ago? I could've sworn I did - I can't find it in the database. o_O

Edit: No, I didn't add it here, I added it to RateYourMusic. I could've sworn I added it here too, but I guess I never did... Also, the composers' website refuses to load for me now.

Technically, they released the original album as "low distortion unit", not as their individual names. I'm not sure how to handle this since several GOG albums have ended up being digital reprints of existing ones.

Yeah, GOG albums are giving me headaches. Technically, all should be reprints, but that opens a can of worms in which you might need to add a different reprint for an album just as long as the release date or the cover art differs. It all depends on how strict you want to be with the definition of reprint. On the other hand, I feel just a note is not enough.

If only we didn't have to fight with their (lack of) naming and tagging standards...

I never really reached a consensus with the site admins over this so I just add the albums that are real original rereleases as far as I know (knew).

Like the Guilty Gear or Prince of Persia albums that ended up being CD rips of their soundtrack albums.

Since track times (and track lists) can be slightly different due to a different file order or ripped track times I just add them as separate entries rather than child entries.
