I really don't know how to read that title, but the official site seem to refer to this album as 'hundred' in the URL.

At least the last kanji could be hyaku and that's hundred.

It's Chinese, title is the first line of the poem printed on the inside => http://eastasiastudent.net/china/cla...百-years-life

I think it sounds similiar to the Chinese pronunciation to put the onyomi of each character together: Sei Nen Fu Man Haku.

Well then, shouldn't it be also Chinese romanized and not Japanese (Sheng Nian Bu Man Bai)?

it should, but maybe a chinese person could confirm the reading
also, hundred is too short for the number of ideograms |

Yeah could be nice to confirm the reading although CHz's link has it already like shēng nián bù mǎn bǎi. ...and it seems that only 百 has a possible second reading as 'bo' and others all have only one reading if the diacritics variations aren't taken into account. Looking at some Chinese albums VGMdb has, diacritics are never there anyway so it's even easier to just slam Sheng Nian Bu Man Bai.

There's no doubt the title reads "Sheng Nian Bu Man Bai" in Chinese.
However, sometimes Japanese onyomi sounds more similiar to the ancient Chinese pronunciation. Last edited by Aye Sephra; Jan 29, 2014 at 05:09 AM. |
